Overview

Doomreaper's Scythe

Game iconDoomreaper's Scythe is a cosmetic two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft in patch 11.0.5 for the event celebrating the game's 20th anniversary. It is a grim polearm in the aesthetic of a warlock's Void demon: a long shaft topped with a wide sickle-blade, and a dark purple-and-black color scheme with voidlike highlights. The model is not tied to any specific specialization and is available to any class that can wield a staff — the look suits warlocks, shadow priests, mages, and any "dark" fantasy.

The staff is a purely cosmetic item: it has no stats, and its value lies entirely in its appearance. Once purchased, the look is added to the transmogrification collection for the whole battle group, and it can be applied to any suitable weapon.

Source

The Doomreaper's Scythe is sold for the event currency — the Timewarped Badge. The full unlock requirement:

  • Vendor — Bobadormu, a bronze dragon who stands at the festival grounds by the entrance to the Caverns of Time in Tanaris.
  • Price — 2500 units of the Timewarped Badge currency.
  • The purchase is one-time: the look is unlocked instantly for the entire battle group, with no need to pay again.

Timewarped Badges drop from Timewalking dungeons and raids, and are also granted for the daily and weekly quests of the anniversary event itself. If the event is not active, Bobadormu is absent from the grounds by the Caverns of Time — wait for the next Timewalking rotation or the return of the anniversary celebration.

Who it suits visually

  • Suits warlock and shadow priest looks — the dark-purple palette echoes sets in the Void and Fel aesthetic.
  • Harmonizes with plate and cloth in deep black-and-purple tones, for example the dark tiers of Shadowlands.
  • Looks great paired with void and shadow visual effects on the outfit — weapon illusions in the purple spectrum.
  • Contrasts with light, paladin-style armor — a debatable but striking "holy weapon in the hands of a dark look" combination.

Tips

1

Before buying, save up exactly 2500 badges on a single character — the currency is shared across the battle group, so there's no need to gather more on other heroes.

2

Visit Bobadormu only during the active phase of the event: outside the Timewalking rotation and the anniversary celebration, the vendor is unavailable.

3

The fastest way to gather badges is to complete the daily and weekly quests of the anniversary event; they grant the currency in large chunks.

4

Additional badges come from Timewalking dungeons and raids, accessible through Bobadormu in the capitals outside the celebration.

5

If you are saving for several looks at once, keep the price in mind: each of the cosmetic weapons from this vendor costs 2500 badges.

6

The look is added to the transmogrification collection instantly after purchase — you can apply it to any staff with no extra conditions.
