Get Doomspike
Overview

Doomspike is a rare blue-quality one-handed dagger that has been in the game ever since the classic version of World of Warcraft. The model is a short blade with a serrated edge and a dark hilt — the recognizable "rogue knife" silhouette that has held a place in transmog hunters' collections for decades.
The dagger requires character level 20 and sits at item level 25 in its classic form, so it carries no specialization restriction: the weapon suits rogues as a main-hand or off-hand, shamans and druids as a universal dagger, and any other class with access to this weapon type. On modern servers the item scales to the player's level and may show a different value in the item tooltip.
Source
Doomspike drops in the Blackfathom Deeps dungeon — an old instance in Ashenvale that is available in both Normal and Heroic mode for collectors.
- The primary drop source is the Twilight Disciple inside the dungeon.
- The same dagger is known to drop from the identically named Twilight Disciples of earlier versions — it is a shared loot table among the Twilight's Hammer cultists in this dungeon.
- The drop chance is low, around 0.1–0.3% per kill according to the database, so farming almost always takes several runs.
- The dungeon can be fully cleared solo at current level in 5–8 minutes.
- The dagger binds to the character on equip, so you can collect it for transmog on any of your characters — just equip it and add the appearance through the collection.
Who It Suits Visually
- It pairs well with rogue sets featuring dark leather shoulders and hoods — for example, low-level bandit-style leather.
- It looks great alongside a matching dagger of the same dark tone: you can build a "dual-wield" assassin look.
- It blends with cultist and dark-mage outfits — the shared Twilight's Hammer theme gives the build lore justification.
- It contrasts with bright golden armor — a debatable but memorable choice for a "fallen paladin" look.
- It works for stealthy low-level twink looks: the model is simple enough not to steal the spotlight.
Farming Tips
- The dungeon is entered through the "Looking for Group" tool in normal-entry mode with no group restrictions — you can go in alone.
- Twilight Disciples stand in small groups of 2–3 mobs — pull them in packs to speed up your runs.
- Use high-mobility classes — a druid, enhancement shaman, monk, or rogue clears the instance fastest.
- The drop counts from every disciple killed, not just a unique one, so it pays to clear the entire "cultist" part of the dungeon.
- Loot binds on equip but not on pickup — extra copies can be sold to a vendor to cover repair costs.
- If farming goes badly, alternate sessions with other sources of easy transmog in Ashenvale — this cuts down on the fatigue of repetitive runs.
- After adding the model to your collection, leaving the dungeon via a hearthstone is faster than running back to the entrance on foot.
