"Dragon Slayer's Shortbow" is a rare-quality bow added to World of Warcraft in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. It is a compact ranged weapon with a dark wooden body and curved limbs, kept in a muted brown-green palette that matches the jungles of Northrend. The silhouette is understated, without bulky ornamentation, so the model fits easily into hunter and ranger looks.
The item belongs to the ranged slot and suits hunters, as well as any character who wants to show off a bow in a transmogrification set. Statistically this gear has long been outdated (item level 80), so today it is taken purely for its appearance.

The bow is granted as a choice reward upon completing the quest "Post-partum Aggression" in Sholazar Basin. It is part of Ernestway's hunting questline expedition — a series of tasks dedicated to culling the local fauna and dragonkin.
- The quest is given by Dorian Drakestalker at Dorian's outpost in the west of Sholazar Basin, roughly at
/way 42.2 28.8. - The quest objective is to kill the elite dragonkin Broodmother Slivina by the cliffs in the north of the zone, roughly at
/way 46.6 20.8. - After the victory, return to Dorian and pick the bow from among the offered rewards.
- The quest is completed once per character, so a single playthrough lets you take only one reward from the list.
Access to Sholazar Basin is open: the zone is available to all characters who own the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, and no separate attunement chain is required. At the current level cap, Broodmother Slivina is killed with ease, even solo.
Visual fit
- Suits hunter looks in a ranger or beastmaster style: the bow's muted brown-green tones echo Northrend's leather sets.
- Pairs well with armor in earthy and evergreen shades — for example, green and brown sets made of mosaic leather.
- Looks great with the jungle theme of Sholazar Basin and Ernestway expedition outfits.

Tips
Pick up the entire block of Sholazar Basin hunting quests from the Ernestway expedition NPCs — the "Post-partum Aggression" quest unlocks toward the end of this line, after a series of tasks hunting the local wildlife.
At the level cap, Broodmother Slivina poses no threat, so it is enough to fly to the spot, kill the target and return to Dorian Drakestalker.
Before turning in the quest, choose your reward carefully: the bow is granted only with the correct choice, and you cannot redo the choice after completion.
If you need several rewards from the list at once, you will have to complete the quest on different characters — only one item is available per character.
The bow is bound on pickup, so you will not be able to pass it to another character through the auction house or mail.
For transmogrification it is enough to obtain the item once: its appearance is saved in your account's appearance collection.
