Earthen Scallywag's Greatstaff — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

The
Earthen Scallywag's Greatstaff is a two-handed caster staff added in The War Within with patch 11.0.7 alongside the island content of Siren Isle. It is a massive brown-stone earthen haft with an angular finial in the spirit of underground forging: the rough stone texture, metal bands and warm ochre palette make it instantly recognizable as an "earthy" weapon rather than just another magical wand.
In terms of stats it is a staff with Intellect, so the model suits all cloth-wearing spellcasters and healing mages. From a transmog standpoint the model is what matters: the appearance unlocks for the account wardrobe the moment the item reaches you, and is then available to all characters of the matching weapon type.
Source
The main way to obtain the staff is buying it from a vendor. The item can also drop from caches and rare creatures on the island, so collecting it is realistic even without grinding currency.
- Vendor — Argarom, quartermaster of the earthen on Siren Isle.
- Price — 350 units of the Flame-Blessed Iron currency.
- Vendor location — Siren Isle, the earthen encampment by the cove.
- Additional source — a chance to drop from caches and rare creatures all over the island.
- There are no reputation requirements; the purchase is available right after you arrive on the island.
Flame-Blessed Iron is ore that gained its properties from prolonged exposure to the Siren crystal. The currency accumulates from almost any activity on the island: quests, events, loot from caches and slaying rare creatures. There are no weekly limits on the purchase itself — you are only bottlenecked by how fast you gather the iron.
You can reach Siren Isle through a portal in Dornogal after a short introductory quest for patch 11.0.7. From there the island is fully open, and currency farming is unrestricted.
Visual fit
The staff's palette is earthy and muted, so it fits best into calm, natural and underground spellcaster looks.
- Harmonizes with the cloth set from the same series — for example, with the
Earthen Scallywag's Vestment, which gives a complete "earthy" silhouette. - Suits brown-ochre and stone armor tones — for druids and shamans on a nature theme.
- Contrasts with bright gold or arcane cloth — a debatable but workable move if you need a "grounded" accent against a fancy set.
Tips
Saving up 350 units of currency goes fastest on the island's daily events and clearing caches along the way.
Before buying, check your inventory for caches from the island — the appearance can drop from them for free, leaving the iron for other rewards.
The appearance binds to the account wardrobe, so it is enough to obtain the staff just once on any spellcaster character.
It is most convenient to farm the island on a character with a fast flying mount — event points and rare creatures are scattered across the whole zone.
If you are saving currency for several rewards, take first what does not drop from caches, and leave the staff to chance from loot.
Rare creatures on the island spawn on a timer, so check their points on every run — it is an extra chance at the appearance.
