Electrifying Cognitive Amplifier — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Electrifying Cognitive Amplifier is an epic one-handed mace added to World of Warcraft in the Battle for Azeroth expansion. It is not a classic mace but a mechanical device in the goblin-engineering style of Mechagon: a metal contraption with lamps, wires, and electric discharges is mounted on the handle, glowing a cold blue. The look is deliberately technical and is easily recognized by the "instrument-panel" aesthetic of the mechanical city.
This is an intellect weapon, so its appearance is worn by priests, shamans, druids, monks, and paladins — classes that use one-handed maces as caster weapons. The base item level is low, and the item becomes soulbound when acquired.
Source
The Electrifying Cognitive Amplifier drops from The Platinum Pummeler — a mechanical boss that is finished off alongside Gnomercy 4.U. in the Operation: Mechagon dungeon.
- This two-boss fight takes place in the inner, workshop part of the megadungeon.
- Operation: Mechagon is a Battle for Azeroth megadungeon on the Isle of Mechagon, split into a surface and an underground half.
- These days the dungeon is available on Heroic difficulty through the Dungeon Finder, and its workshop part periodically enters the Mythic+ key rotation.
- There is no weekly lockout on Heroic difficulty or in regular Mythic mode, so you can rerun the boss for the appearance.
- This is an intellect caster weapon, so it is primarily of interest to classes that wield maces for spellcasting.
Visual Appeal
- It complements mechanical and engineering sets in the spirit of Mechagon, with metallic and neon details.
- It harmonizes with looks in a cold blue-steel palette thanks to the device's blue glow.
- It contrasts with classic mystical staves and wands as a deliberately technical, "gadget" choice.
- It looks great on priests and shamans roleplaying techno-mages or master mechanics.
Tips
1
For farming the appearance, it is easiest to run the dungeon on Heroic difficulty through the Dungeon Finder — there is no limit on attempts there.
2
The mace drops from a specific fight, so when resetting the dungeon it makes sense to head straight to the two-boss encounter in the inner part.
3
At max level the dungeon clears quickly with a small group, and some fights can even be handled by two players.
4
Besides this mace, Operation: Mechagon drops plenty of other mechanical gear suitable for transmog, so the runs pay off with extra appearances.
5
Once the mace is added to your appearance collection, the look unlocks account-wide and you no longer need to farm it.
6
For a cohesive look, pair the weapon with armor in the same mechanical Mechagon theme.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
