Eternal Gladiator's Soul Eater

Eternal Gladiator's Soul Eater is a prestigious flying mount added to World of Warcraft in patch 9.2.5 of the Shadowlands expansion (May 31, 2022). Visually, the mount is a bronze-and-gold soul eater, a dark demonic beast native to the Maw. The item description reads: "The gaze of this soul eater throws you off balance. Best not to look into its eyes for too long."

This is the final, fourth and last variant of the soul eater line, which was awarded to gladiators of every Shadowlands season. The mount is available only through the Gladiator: Shadowlands Season 4 achievement — winning 50 matches of 3v3 arena at an Elite rating of 2400+ between August 2 and October 25, 2022.

• Collector exclusivity — the mount is no longer awarded. After the end of Shadowlands Season 4 on October 25, 2022, there is no way to obtain it by any means, which makes it an eternal marker of PvP mastery.
• Full flight — grants +150%, +280% or +310% flight speed depending on your riding skill, and +60% or +100% ground speed.
• Completing the series — the fourth and last soul eater in the chain: Sinful Gladiator's Soul Eater (Season 1), Unchained Gladiator's Soul Eater (Season 2), Cosmic Gladiator's Soul Eater (Season 3).
• Account-wide mount — once the achievement is completed, it becomes available to every character on your account.
• Unique bronze coloring — it differs from its red, purple and cosmic predecessors and visually echoes the color palette of Shadowlands Season 4.

The mount is awarded automatically upon completing the Gladiator: Shadowlands Season 4 achievement. The achievement is no longer active — the season ended on October 25, 2022, and there is no way to obtain it in 2026 (The War Within, patch 11.1).

1. In Shadowlands Season 4, you had to reach a rating of 2400 in 3v3 arena and attain the "Elite" rank.
2. After that — win 50 matches of 3v3 while already at the Elite rank.
3. The mount and the temporary "Eternal Gladiator" title (until the end of the expansion) arrived in the mail immediately after the 50th win.
4. Players who placed in the top 0.1% of their region additionally received the Eternal Gladiator: Shadowlands Season 4 achievement and the permanent "Eternal Gladiator" title.

If you do not have this mount, it is lost forever. Any offers to "obtain" it now are scams.

The Eternal Gladiator's Soul Eater is the fourth and final mount in the Shadowlands PvP reward series. Each season awarded its own color variant of the same soul eater model.

Collectors who missed only Season 4 had the worst luck: this particular mount was awarded for only 12 weeks, whereas the previous three were available noticeably longer.

Shadowlands Season 4 used the standard rating rank ladder. The "Elite" rank and 50 wins at that rating were critical for obtaining the mount.

For players not aiming for Elite, Season 4 offered a separate mount — the Vicious Sinister Hunter. It was awarded for filling the progress bar in rated PvP at the "Combatant" rank (rating 1000+) — you simply had to win matches consistently until the progress bar reached 100%.

• The Alliance received a version in the corresponding faction coloring
• The Horde received its own version with an alternate coloring
• Both versions became unavailable at the same time as the end of the season on October 25, 2022

This mount was more widely obtained than the soul eater, but is likewise closed off now.

If you obtained the mount, it will remain in your collection forever. If not — knowing the timeline will help you understand why it is no longer available.

1. May 31, 2022 — release of patch 9.2.5, the Season 4 soul eater models were added on the PTR.
2. August 2, 2022 — start of Shadowlands Season 4, the opportunity to earn the mount opened.
3. August — October 2022 — 12 weeks of the active season. Running in parallel were the revamped "Tomb of Sargeras" raid, "Trial of the Crusader" and "Ulduar" in Fated raid mode.
4. October 25, 2022 — end of the season. The last chance to obtain the mount. Season rewards were mailed out within a week.
5. November 28, 2022 — release of Dragonflight, the start of Season 1 of the new expansion, the transition to the line of usurper mounts.
