Eternal Phalynx of Humility
Overview

Eternal Phalynx of Humility is an epic ground mount added in patch 9.0.1 of the Shadowlands expansion. It is an armored mechanical phalynx-construct, forged by the stewards of Bastion. The mount is purchased from Binkir in Elysian Hold in Bastion for 2,500 Reservoir Anima after earning the Learning from Masters achievement.
Visually, the mount is a large mechanical beast of dark bronze metal. Its body is covered with plate panels, and a bluish glow of anima shines through the seams of its frame. Phalynxes are creations of Bastion's stewards, stitched together from metal and imbued with a spark of life. They are designed to protect the sacred lands and serve as a reminder of the craftsmanship of the Kyrian smiths.
Item description: "As the armored phalynx is forged, the other stewards clap their hammers together in tribute to the smith's skill."
Why You Want This Mount
- Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is purchased from a vendor rather than dropping randomly. Earn the required achievement, accumulate anima, and the mount will be in your collection.
- Rare model — phalynxes appear in the game in only four variants. The dark bronze coloring of "Humility" is one of the most recognizable among them.
- Bastion theme — the mount is perfect for Kyrian characters and lovers of the sacred-mechanical aesthetic of Bastion.
- Available to all characters — once used, the mount item becomes available on all characters on the account.
- Removal of the covenant restriction — originally the mount was intended exclusively for members of the Kyrian covenant. Upon reaching renown level 80 with the Kyrian, the restriction is lifted, and the mount becomes available to all characters in your Warband.
How to Obtain
To purchase the mount you need to meet two conditions: earn the Learning from Masters achievement and have 2,500 Reservoir Anima.
- Join the Kyrian covenant if you have not already done so. Access to the Path of Ascension is available only to members of this covenant.
- Unlock the "Path of Ascension" upgrade in the sanctum in Elysian Hold by speaking to Aethys. Upgrade it to at least rank 3 — this is the rank at which the "Wisdom" difficulty needed for the achievement unlocks.
- Speak to Dactylis to begin the trials at the Path of Ascension arena.
- Complete the Learning from Masters achievement — defeat Kala'sthena and Athanos on "Wisdom" difficulty using each of the three mediums: Pelagos, Kleia, and Mikanikos. Six victories in total.
- Accumulate 2,500 Reservoir Anima in the sanctum's reservoir.
- Head to Binkir in Elysian Hold (coordinates around 31, 48) and purchase the
Eternal Phalynx of Humility. - Use the item to add the mount to your collection.
Path of Ascension — Details
The Path of Ascension is a unique feature of the Kyrian covenant, taking the form of a trial arena in Elysian Hold. In the arena you control not your own character, but one of three mediums: Pelagos, Kleia, or Mikanikos. Each medium has its own set of abilities and equipment.
Sanctum Upgrade Ranks
The "Path of Ascension" upgrade is purchased from Hephus for Reservoir Anima and Redeemed Souls. To obtain the mount, at least rank 3 is required, which unlocks the "Wisdom" difficulty.
| Rank | What It Unlocks | Approximate Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Basic access, first bosses, "Courage" difficulty | 1,500 Anima, 6 Redeemed Souls |
| 2 | Additional bosses, "Loyalty" difficulty | 5,000 Anima, 12 Redeemed Souls |
| 3 | "Wisdom" difficulty | 10,000 Anima, 22 Redeemed Souls |
| 4 | Remaining "Wisdom" trials | 12,500 Anima, 40 Redeemed Souls |
| 5 | "Humility" difficulty (final) | 15,000 Anima, 70 Redeemed Souls |
The "Learning from Masters" Achievement
The achievement requires defeating two Path of Ascension bosses on "Wisdom" difficulty with each of the three mediums. Six victories in total:
- Defeat Kala'sthena as Pelagos
- Defeat Kala'sthena as Kleia
- Defeat Kala'sthena as Mikanikos
- Defeat Athanos as Pelagos
- Defeat Athanos as Kleia
- Defeat Athanos as Mikanikos
According to player reports, some of the victories over Athanos may be counted on lower difficulties as well, but Kala'sthena must be defeated specifically on "Wisdom." It is recommended to conduct all six fights on "Wisdom" to guarantee the achievement.

What Else Binkir Sells
In addition to the Eternal Phalynx of Humility, you can purchase other mounts from Binkir, access to which is unlocked by achievements of the corresponding competitive covenant systems:
Eternal Phalynx of Loyalty — for the Four Faces of One Mask achievement- Pale Acidmaw — for the "Nothing in Excess" achievement (Necrolords)
- Silvertip Dredwing — for the "Curse of Thirst" achievement (Venthyr)
- Monstrous Boneslicer — for the "Every Shade of Pain" achievement (Night Fae)
All of the mounts listed cost 2,500 Reservoir Anima each.
Other Phalynxes
The Eternal Phalynx of Humility is one of four eternal phalynxes. They all use the same model but differ in coloring and source:
| Mount | Source |
|---|---|
| Reward for completing the Kyrian covenant campaign | |
| Reaching a certain renown level with the Kyrian covenant | |
| Purchase from Binkir for 2,500 Anima ("Death to the Schism" achievement) | |
| Eternal Phalynx of Humility | Purchase from Binkir for 2,500 Anima ("Learning from Masters" achievement) |
In addition, the game features four ordinary phalynxes — the
Phalynx of Humility and its other variants. They are available for a lower cost and with less strict requirements, but have a simpler visual model without armor.
Tips
Achievement bound to the character — based on player experience, the Learning from Masters achievement must be earned by the same character who purchases the mount. Conduct all Path of Ascension fights on the same Kyrian character.
Prepare equipment for the mediums — before each fight in the arena you can craft and upgrade gear for the chosen medium. Don't skimp on Reservoir Anima during preparation: proper equipment significantly eases the "Wisdom" difficulty.
Start with a comfortable medium — many players note that Mikanikos is the most durable and forgiving thanks to his mechanical abilities. Master the boss mechanics on him, then repeat the fights as Pelagos and Kleia.
Kala'sthena is harder than Athanos — be prepared for Kala'sthena to require more attempts. She rises into the air and rains the arena with spears, and also casts a binding spear on you. Study her abilities and choose gear specifically for each medium.
Stockpile anima in advance — leveling up the Path of Ascension ranks and purchasing the mount together require tens of thousands of Reservoir Anima. Complete world quests in the Shadowlands, turn in one-time anima items, and replay campaign quests to speed up accumulation.
Mind the limit — the anima reservoir holds no more than 35,000 units at a time. Watch the fill level so you don't miss out on loot.
Ground mount only — phalynxes cannot fly. For aerial travel, use larions or other flying mounts of the Kyrian covenant.
Removal of the covenant restriction — if you don't want to be tied to the Kyrian covenant forever, remember that upon reaching renown level 80 the restriction is lifted. The mount can then be used by any character in your Warband.
