Fearless Gladiator's Storm Dragon
Overview

Fearless Gladiator's Storm Dragon is a flying mount that was handed out only to participants of the second PvP season of the Legion expansion. It is a massive armored storm dragon in a blue and azure color scheme, visually echoing the storm dragons of Stormheim. The mount's description reads: "Born in the mountains of Stormheim, the storm dragon is a truly majestic sight as it pursues its prey, leaving a blazing trail across the skies."
An important warning right away: the mount is retired and in 2026 it is no longer awarded. It is available only to those players who earned it at the end of PvP Season 2 of the Legion expansion — between December 13, 2016 and March 28, 2017. If you do not have the mount and were not active in arena during those years, there is no legitimate way to obtain it. This guide explains exactly how it was awarded, why a collector would want it, and which current alternatives exist in 2026 in The War Within expansion.
Why You Want This Mount
- Rare prestige model. The storm dragon is one of the most recognizable silhouettes of Legion. The armored version was awarded only to gladiators and is now extremely rare in the game.
- Proof of PvP achievement. The mount is a symbol that you closed Legion Season 2 in the top 0.5% of the arena. For arena veterans, it is one of the most prized trophies of that period.
- Account-wide. Once earned, the mount is unlocked on all characters of the account, regardless of faction and class.
- Flying. Its speed matches your riding skill: +150% or +280% in flight at maximum skill. This is a full-fledged endgame mount, not a ground decoration.
- Associated achievement. Together with the mount, the player receives Fearless Gladiator's Storm Dragon — an honorable achievement (Feat of Strength) that remains in the character's profile forever.
How It Was Awarded in Legion
This is a seasonal PvP mount — one of a line of armored storm dragons, each corresponding to its own Legion season. Below is the full list so you don't confuse the seasons:
| Season | Mount |
|---|---|
| Legion Season 1 | |
| Legion Season 2 | |
| Legion Season 3 | |
| Legion Season 4 | |
| Legion Season 5 | |
| Legion Season 6 | |
| Legion Season 7 |
Requirements to Earn It in Season 2
To earn the mount during the active season, you had to close it with the Gladiator: Legion Season 2 achievement.
- Play ranked arena in the 3v3 format
- Reach and hold a rating of 2400+ (the "Elite" title)
- Win 50 games at that rating during Season 2
- Land in the top 0.5% of the 3v3 rating ladder at the moment the season ended
Additionally, there was a tougher achievement, Fearless Gladiator: Legion Season 2, for the top 0.1% of the ladder — it granted the matching "Fearless Gladiator" title, but it was not required for the mount.
The mount was distributed after the season ended, roughly within 1–2 weeks after patch 7.2.0 went live (March 28, 2017). The mount arrived on the character that met the requirements and automatically became available to the entire account.
Can You Get the Mount Now
The short answer: no. Legion Season 2 ended on March 28, 2017, and the mount has not been handed out since. Blizzard categorically does not bring back seasonal gladiator mounts — this is confirmed by official policy and a dozen seasons that have passed.
Everything you can do today:
- Check your collection. Open the mount journal (press "P" → "Collections" → "Mounts") and look for the mount under the "Legion" filter. If it's there — you got lucky, you earned it back then.
- Check your achievements. In the achievement journal, scroll through the "Feats of Strength" tab and look for Fearless Gladiator's Storm Dragon. If it's missing, the mount is not on the account and it cannot be added.
- Accept it. This is one of those cases where the "missed moment" is final. No purchases, donations, or support tickets will bring the mount back.
Current Alternatives in 2026
Since it is impossible to acquire this particular storm dragon, it makes sense to focus on mounts that can actually be earned in the 2026 PvP season — Season 2 of The War Within expansion.
The Current Season's Gladiator Mount
The current Gladiator mount is awarded for the "Gladiator" achievement in the current The War Within season: you need to earn 50 wins in 3v3 at a 2400+ rating and land in the top 0.5% of the ladder. The mount model changes from season to season — in Season 2 of The War Within it is its own unique design, distributed after the season ends.
Vicious Mounts (More Accessible)
If a 2400 rating is out of reach for you, farm
Vicious Saddles. This is a more democratic line of PvP mounts:
- During the current season, win ranked PvP matches at a 1000+ rating
- Earn Vicious shards for victories
- Collect shards until you obtain a
Vicious Saddle - Exchange the saddle with the PvP rewards vendor in Orgrimmar (Horde) or Stormwind (Alliance) for the current season's mount
This way you won't get the "Fearless" one specifically, but you'll close out the latest seasonal dragon or its equivalent available in 2026.
PvP Transmog and Other Rewards
Season 2 of The War Within also offers PvP armor sets, weapon color variants, titles, and achievements.
Tips
Check all your accounts. If you have several accounts or once bought a ready-made account, the chance of finding the mount there is higher than on your main.
Save screenshots. If you are in fact a lucky owner of the mount, take screenshots of your profile and collection. It is a rare prestige item, and over time its value to the PvP community only grows.
Don't fall for "sellers." Sites and individuals promising to "restore" a retired mount are scammers. Blizzard does not hand out or sell seasonal PvP rewards after a season closes.
Start with the current season. If you came to PvP in 2026, focus on the current The War Within season's mount and the vicious line. These mounts are realistic to obtain.
Train gradually. To storm a 2400 rating in 3v3 you need a stable team, an understanding of your class, and roughly 200–300 games just to practice combos. Start at 1600–1800 and work your way up.
Use transmog collection. While climbing the ratings, you automatically accumulate PvP currency that can be spent on current gear sets and transmog — this makes the grind feel meaningful even if you don't reach the gladiator mount.
Remember the Feat of Strength. If the mount is on the account but the achievement Fearless Gladiator's Storm Dragon is not showing — contact support; this is a known rare collection-restore bug.
