Ferocious Jawcrawler is an epic ground mount added in patch 11.0.2 of The War Within expansion. It is a large jawcrawler — a predatory nerubian creature from the underground tunnels of Azj-Kahet, tamed and used as a mount. The mount is purchased from Lady Vinazian or Y'tekhi in the Azj-Kahet zone. To get it, you will need 2,815 Kej and renown rank 22 with The Severed Threads faction.
The item description reads: "Thanks to its gigantic size, this jawcrawler is just right for riding... but make sure it doesn't reach your arms and legs with its maw." The mount has a reddish-brown coloration and the distinctive model of a cave worm with powerful jaws.
To buy the mount you need to meet two conditions: reach renown rank 22 with The Severed Threads faction and have 2,815 Kej.
Reaching renown rank 22 requires systematic completion of content in Azj-Kahet. The main sources are listed below.
Completing the Azj-Kahet campaign grants a significant one-time renown bonus. After finishing the zone's entire storyline, you will reach roughly rank 3–4, which unlocks the pact system and basic world quests.
At renown rank 3 the pact system unlocks. Each week you can form a pact with one of the three Severed Threads leaders:
Completing a weekly pact quest rewards 500 Kej, renown points, gear, recipes, or chest keys. Pact rank progress also increases your overall renown with The Severed Threads.
World quests in Azj-Kahet appear regularly and reward renown points on completion. Check the Azj-Kahet map several times a day so you don't miss any available quests.
Rare mobs and treasure chests are scattered all across Azj-Kahet. Each rare enemy and each treasure rewards 45 Kej and renown points. Treasures are one-time, but available separately on each character.
Rumors are small quests marked with a spider icon on the minimap. They appear daily all across Azj-Kahet and reward 50 Kej each. This is a quick and easy source of both currency and renown.
At high renown ranks, scribes can craft a contract that increases the renown earned from world quests. If you have a scribe or access to the auction house, activate the contract to speed up your progress.
Kej is the currency of Azj-Kahet, used for purchases from The Severed Threads faction vendors. Here are the main ways to earn it.
Each completed weekly pact quest rewards 500 Kej. This is the main and most reliable source of currency.
At certain renown ranks (8, 10, 14, 18, 22), additional quests unlock that reward 750 or more Kej. The reward amount grows with each subsequent rank.
Azj-Kahet has 15 side quest chains available. Completing each chain rewards from 250 to 750 Kej.
Each rumor grants 50 Kej. You can complete several rumors per day, providing a steady daily income.
Killing rare enemies and opening treasure chests yield 45 Kej each.
With active play, completing weekly pact quests and daily activities, reaching renown rank 22 takes roughly 4–6 weeks. While leveling renown, you will naturally accumulate the required 2,815 Kej — most likely the currency will be ready before the renown is.
Start with the story — don't skip the main Azj-Kahet campaign. It grants a significant one-time renown bonus and unlocks the pact system and world quests
Don't forget the pacts — weekly pact quests give the most Kej and renown for the time spent. Form a new pact every week
Pick up rumors along the way — spider icons on the minimap point to rumors. Complete them between your main tasks — it's fast and provides a steady Kej income
Use the contract — if a Severed Threads contract is available at the auction house or through a scribe, activate it to speed up your renown leveling
Play on multiple characters — treasures can be collected separately on each character. If you have several level 90 characters, use them for extra Kej income
The mount is ground-only — keep in mind that the Ferocious Jawcrawler is a ground mount. In zones with flying it will only move along the ground
Check the alternate vendor — if Lady Vinazian is unavailable (she appears after you choose a pact), look for Y'tekhi in the same area. Both NPCs sell the Ferocious Jawcrawler for the same price
