Fierce Gladiator's Storm Dragon

Fierce Gladiator's Storm Dragon is a flying mount from the Legion expansion, added in patch 7.0.3. It is an armored storm dragon with a distinctive white-and-silver coloration, awarded to players as a mark of prestige for outstanding achievements in the arena. The description nods to the harsh nature of Stormheim: "Born in the mountains of Stormheim, the storm dragon is a truly majestic sight as it pursues its prey, leaving a blazing trail across the skies."

The mount was handed out as a reward for finishing in the top 0.5% of the arena ladder at the end of Legion's PvP Season 5. The season ended in early 2018 with the release of patch 7.3.5, after which the mount moved into the category of fully unavailable. It is impossible to obtain today — it is a collectible "proof" of a real seasonal rating, not an item you can chase down with a guide.

Before you spend any time on it, it is important to understand that this mount can no longer be obtained. It is present in the collection only of those players who personally earned it during Legion Season 5 in 2017–2018. Even so, information about it is useful for the following reasons:

   • The achievement Fierce Gladiator: Legion Season 5
   • The achievement Gladiator: Legion Season 5

The "Fierce Gladiator" title stays with the player forever, but the mount itself was no longer added to anyone after the season ended in January 2018.

A total of 7 seasonal gladiator mounts were handed out in Legion — all of them the same model (storm dragon), but with different armor colorations and effects. Each is tied to its own season and is today unavailable outside the bounds of that season.

If you have friends who were around for Legion, check their collections. Active PvP players of that era will often have one of these dragons, and most often it is precisely a reminder of a season spent in the arena.

Since the original mount cannot be obtained, below are options that give a similar feel and are available in the current The War Within expansion:

• The current seasonal gladiator mount — in 2026, The War Within Season 2 is current. Its gladiator mount is awarded the same way: top 0.5% of 3v3 arena + 150 wins. If you want a dragon from PvP, this is what you should aim for, while the season is still running.
• Mounts for the "Vicious Saddle" — the Vicious Saddle is sold in exchange for weekly rated points. The mounts purchased with the saddle change every season and let you collect interesting PvP models without having to break into the top 0.5%.
• Mounts for arena feats of strength — a number of achievements for teams and arena wins unlock separate mounts that are not tied to the gladiator rating.
• Other storm dragons — the storm dragon model is used for several mounts in the game, including the Stormwing Falcon and other flying creatures of Stormheim.

Can this mount be bought at the auction house?

No. The Fierce Gladiator's Storm Dragon is bound on acquisition; it cannot be sold, cannot be traded between players, and does not appear at the auction house.

Can it be obtained through the Trading Post or the Blizzard shop?

No. Unlike some cosmetic mounts, PvP rewards for a seasonal rating never return to sale or to the Trading Post rotation.

Is there any chance the mount will be brought back?

In the entire history of the game, Blizzard has never brought back exclusive seasonal rewards for arena rating. This is a matter of principle: the mount is a reward for a specific achievement at a specific time. Waiting for it to return makes no sense.

What happens if I buy an account with this mount from a "helper"?

Buying and trading accounts violate Blizzard's user agreement and lead to the account being banned. This is not worth doing.

I took part in Legion Season 5, but I don't have the mount — why?

The mount was granted only to those who, at the moment the season closed, were in the top 0.5% and had a minimum of 150 arena wins for their faction. If even one condition was not met, the reward was not granted. Appealing to Blizzard support about this is already pointless — data from past seasons is not recalculated.

• Focus on the current season — if you want a flying dragon for PvP, The War Within seasonal mounts give exactly the same type of trophy. The mechanic, the look of the armor, and the effects are equally striking. You can only earn it while the season is active.
• Track the season schedule — Blizzard usually announces season end dates 2–4 weeks in advance. Plan your push to 0.5% ahead of time and don't leave the arena to the last week.
• Check your collection after moving into a new season — if you have old achievements left over, the mount, title, and rewards should appear automatically. Sometimes the reward hangs and arrives within a few days after the season closes.
• Don't trust "guaranteed" offers — no shop can grant you the Fierce Gladiator's Storm Dragon. Any such offer is a scam or a rules violation with the risk of a ban.
