Fierce Grimlynx
Overview

Fierce Grimlynx is an epic ground mount added in patch 12.0.1 of the Midnight expansion. It is a battle grimlynx with purple coloring that has survived countless clashes with the creatures of the Aln Rift. The mount is purchased from a Hara'ti faction vendor in the Harandar zone.
Grimlynxes are large feline creatures that serve as the racial mounts of the Haranir people. The Fierce Grimlynx stands out with its rich purple fur and battle armor.
Why You Want This Mount
- Battle-hardened character — the Fierce Grimlynx carries a unique backstory: it took part in battles against the creatures of the Aln Rift.
- Purple coloring — the rich purple hue of its fur makes this the most striking grimlynx variant available. It pairs beautifully with transmogrification in dark and violet tones
- Guaranteed acquisition — unlike low drop-rate mounts, the Fierce Grimlynx is bought from a vendor. All you need to do is reach the required renown rank and accumulate the currency
- Available to all characters — once learned, the mount becomes available on every character on your account
- Collection value — the mount counts toward mount collecting achievements and is one of the signature mounts of the Midnight expansion
How to Obtain
The Fierce Grimlynx is purchased from a Hara'ti faction vendor. To buy it, you must meet two requirements: reach renown rank 16 with the Hara'ti and accumulate 6,000 Voidlight Marl.
- Unlock access to the Harandar zone. To do so, complete the Midnight campaign and select Harandar on the Scouting Map in the Hall of the Guardian
- Begin building renown with the Hara'ti faction by completing quests, world quests, and weekly activities in Harandar
- Reach renown rank 16 with the Hara'ti (each rank requires 2,500 reputation points)
- Accumulate 6,000 Voidlight Marl — the main currency of the Midnight expansion
- Find the vendor Naynar in the Den and purchase the mount
How to Reach the Vendor
The vendor Naynar is located in the Den area within the Harandar zone. To get there, follow these steps.
First Visit
- Complete the opening quests of the Midnight campaign in Silvermoon
- Open the Scouting Map in the Hall of the Guardian and choose the Harandar destination
- You will be directed to Orveinah, who gives the quest "The Root of All Evil"
- This quest creates a portal to Harandar
- Complete the introductory quest chain to unlock the Hara'ti faction
After arriving in Harandar, find the Den — the Hara'ti settlement in the central part of the zone. Naynar stands by the tent entrance near the river (coordinates 51.0 / 50.8).
Raising Hara'ti Renown
To buy the Fierce Grimlynx, you need renown rank 16. Each rank requires 2,500 reputation points, meaning you need to earn 40,000 points in total. Reputation is awarded account-wide rather than to an individual character.
Weekly Reputation Sources
- Weekly dungeon quest — pick it up from Haldaron Lightwing in Silvermoon. Reward: 1,500 reputation points with a faction of your choice. It can be completed in any dungeon, including Follower mode
- Legends of the Haranir — a zone-wide weekly event that grants a significant amount of reputation
- Special assignments — higher-difficulty world quests that grant additional reputation
- Bounty caches — open them during delves for extra points
Daily Reputation Sources
- World quests — complete them in Harandar to earn Hara'ti reputation
- Rare enemies — kill rare creatures in Harandar (the reward is granted once per day)
- Story and side quests — every quest in Harandar grants Hara'ti reputation
Speeding Up the Grind
- Contract: Hara'ti — order it from a scribe or buy it at the auction house. The contract adds bonus reputation for every world quest you complete in any Midnight zone
- Focus on a single faction — don't spread yourself across all four Midnight factions at once. Build Hara'ti renown in a focused way
Farming Voidlight Marl
Voidlight Marl is the main currency of the Midnight expansion, earned through activities in Eversong Woods, Zul'Aman, Harandar, and the Abyssal Storm. You will need 6,000 units to buy the Fierce Grimlynx.
Daily Sources
- Rare enemies — 50 units per rare creature (up to 59 rares per day, a maximum of about 2,950 per day)
- World quests — 30 units for a standard quest, up to 150 for bonus quests
- Harandar daily quests — 50 units for each elite-kill quest
Weekly Sources
- Hunts — 80 (normal), 120 (hard), 160 (nightmare) units per hunt, up to 1,360 per week
- Special assignments — 200 units (100 for completion + 100 from the cache)
- Summit caches — about 500 units per week
Alternative Method: Delves
In delves you earn Undercoins, which can be exchanged for Voidlight Marl. The Deep Wanderer's Pouch contains 250 units of marl and costs 2,000 Undercoins.
Tips
Start with quests — the Harandar story chain grants a significant amount of reputation and Voidlight Marl at the same time. Don't skip the side quests
Use the contract — Contract: Hara'ti lets you earn bonus reputation from world quests in any Midnight zone. This speeds up the grind considerably
Combine activities — kill rare enemies on your way to world quests. That way you earn both reputation and currency at once
Watch the weekly reset — don't miss the weekly reputation sources: the dungeon quest, the "Legends of the Haranir" event, and special assignments. These are the most valuable sources
Hunts are a priority — if currency is all you're short on and renown is already maxed, focus on hunts. At 2,000 units per hour, you'll need only 3 hours of dedicated farming
Ground mount only — the Fierce Grimlynx is a ground mount. It cannot fly, but in ground mode it looks impressive thanks to its battle armor and unique running animation
