Overview

Fierce Razorwing

Game iconFierce Razorwing is a flying mount from the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion, representing an aggressive variety of razorwings — predatory feathered raptors that inhabit Korthia. Among all razorwings, the fierce variation stands out as the most wild and willful: according to the mount journal description, these creatures usually keep their distance from other inhabitants of Korthia, yet with time and patience even they can be tamed.

The mount was added to the game with the 9.1.0 "Chains of Domination" update in the summer of 2021, alongside the new Korthia zone and the Death's Advance faction. It is one of the rarest and most coveted collectible rewards of the entire patch, since it drops exclusively from the faction's paragon cache and only after reaching Exalted with it.

Visually, the Fierce Razorwing stands out from the rest of its family: with richer plumage coloring, an aggressive posture, and the distinctive look of a predator ready to strike. Its model resembles other Korthia razorwings, but thanks to its unique coloring it is instantly recognizable in flight. The mount is account-bound, allowing any character to use it once obtained.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Rare collectible reward — the Fierce Razorwing drops only from the Death's Advance paragon cache with roughly a 10% chance, making it one of the most prestigious mounts of patch 9.1.0.
  • Unique razorwing model — among the four razorwing mounts of Shadowlands, the fierce version is considered the most striking in coloring.
  • Flying mount — unlike some other faction rewards, this mount can fly in zones where flight is allowed, increasing its value when traveling.
  • Account-bound — once it drops, the mount becomes available to all characters on your game account.
  • Free to obtain — unlike currency-bought mounts, the Fierce Razorwing doesn't need to be purchased: it drops as a reward for activities you complete anyway while leveling Death's Advance reputation.
  • A monument of the Shadowlands era — obtaining the mount remains a long-lasting testament that you actively played Korthia content during the "Chains of Domination" patch.
  • Part of the complete razorwing collection — collectors enjoy gathering all razorwings together with the Fierce Razorwing, including the Game iconGarnet Razorwing and the Game iconSoaring Razorwing.

How to Obtain

Game iconFierce Razorwing drops with a small chance from Game iconDeath's Advance Supplies — the paragon cache of the Death's Advance faction, granted each time you earn 10,000 reputation points beyond Exalted. This is the only way to obtain the mount.

Step 1. Unlock Access to Korthia

  1. Reach level 60 and complete the main Shadowlands story campaign
  2. Complete the introductory quests of patch 9.1 "Chains of Domination" in Oribos and the Maw
  3. Gain access to the Korthia zone through the story chain of Secret-Keeper Tal-Galan
  4. Establish the Keeper's Respite base in Korthia

Step 2. Reach Exalted with Death's Advance

Level up your reputation with the Death's Advance faction from the starting level to Exalted. To do this, use all available reputation sources in Korthia and the Maw:

  1. Daily quests in Korthia — 3–5 quests per day around Keeper's Respite, each granting about 125 reputation points
  2. Weekly quest Shaping Fate — the patch's main activity, granting 750 reputation points for filling the progress bar
  3. Covenant Assaults in the Maw — two activities per week, 350 reputation points each
  4. Allies of Cold Darkness — recurring events in the Maw that grant reputation and resources
  5. Weekly world quest in Desmotaeron — an additional major source of reputation
  6. Killing rares and gathering treasures in Korthia and the Maw — each find or rare mob grants Stygia tokens and a small reputation boost

To speed up leveling, use the Game iconContract: Death's Advance from scribes — it grants additional reputation for any world quests in the Shadowlands.

Step 3. Farm Paragon Caches

After reaching Exalted with Death's Advance, Duchess Mynx, the faction's quartermaster at Keeper's Respite, will offer the quest Death's Advance Supplies each time you earn 10,000 reputation points beyond Exalted.

  1. Continue performing the same daily, weekly, and side activities in Korthia and the Maw
  2. Once you accumulate 10,000 reputation beyond Exalted, take the quest from Duchess Mynx
  3. Turn in the quest and receive Game iconDeath's Advance Supplies as a reward
  4. Open the cache and check its contents — with roughly a 10% chance, it will contain the Game iconFierce Razorwing
  5. Repeat the cycle: each subsequent 10,000 reputation beyond Exalted activates the quest again

Step 4. Use the Obtained Mount

  1. After the mount drops from the cache, right-click the item in your bag — the mount will be learned and added to the mount journal
  2. Open the mount journal (default hotkey — Shift+P) and summon the Game iconFierce Razorwing from the flying section
  3. The mount immediately becomes available to all account characters level 10 and above

Requirements

Mandatory Conditions

  • A character of level 60 or higher
  • Riding skill: Apprentice for ground speed and Game iconExpert Flying for flying in appropriate zones
  • Completed main Shadowlands campaign and the introductory quests of patch 9.1
  • Unlocked access to the Korthia zone
  • Achieved Exalted with the Death's Advance faction
  • Earning 10,000 reputation points beyond Exalted to activate a single paragon quest
  • Luck: the mount drops only by chance, so several paragon caches may be required

What Can Speed Up the Process

  • Game iconContract: Death's Advance — grants additional reputation for world quests in the Shadowlands
  • Regularly completing Covenant Assaults — this is the most reliable source of large reputation chunks per week
  • Group activity while farming Korthia rares — speeds up gathering Stygia and reputation

Farming Paragon Caches

Which Caches Drop at the Same Time

Besides the Fierce Razorwing, Game iconDeath's Advance Supplies can also contain:

Important fact: multiple mounts can drop from the same cache at once, so farming paragons simultaneously helps you collect the entire Death's Advance reward collection.

How Many Caches You'll Need on Average

According to player reports, the Fierce Razorwing's drop chance is about 10%. This means that, on average, the mount drops within the first 10–15 paragon caches, though actual results vary widely: some get the mount from the second or third cache, while others need 20 or more attempts. RNG in Shadowlands has no cumulative "bad luck" effect, so each cache's chance remains unchanged regardless of how many previous failures there were.

How to Accumulate Paragon Quickly

After Exalted, one paragon cache requires 10,000 reputation. On average, an active player earns 5,000–8,000 reputation points per week from all sources — that means one cache roughly every 7–10 days. If you complete all available activities, including assaults and Torghast Tormentors, you can shorten the interval to one cache per week.

Tips

1

Don't skip the weekly quest Shaping Fate — this is the largest single source of reputation in Korthia, and skipping even one week noticeably slows paragon leveling.

2

Complete Covenant Assaults right after the reset — if you skip them, after a week you'll lose the chance to earn 700 reputation points that can't be made up from other sources.

3

Use the inv_belt_cloth_oribosdungeon_c_01Contract: Death's Advance — an active contract grants additional reputation for any world quests in the Shadowlands, not just in Korthia, speeding up paragon accumulation.

4

Farm Korthia rares in groups — many of the zone's rare creatures grant large portions of reputation and Stygia, and they're easier to kill and find in a group.

5

Check the Korthia treasure map — each treasure not only grants reputation but may also contain items with a bonus to Death's Advance leveling.

6

Turn in Torghast Tormentors for the first weekly kill — the first victory over a Tormentor grants an improved cache with bonus reputation.

7

Keep records of your paragons — maintain a small log or use an addon to track how many caches you've already opened; this helps gauge progress and not get discouraged by a streak of bad luck.

8

Play several characters — Death's Advance reputation levels separately on each character, so parallel farming on two or three heroes doubles and triples your chances of getting the Fierce Razorwing.

9

Don't switch covenants to speed things up — changing your covenant grants no additional Death's Advance reputation, so stay in your current covenant to avoid wasting time mastering new features

10

Participate in Korthia's daily events — the "Relic Hunt in Korthia" event adds extra quests and increases the overall reputation output per day.

11

Remember account-bound — only one character needs to obtain the mount; this lets you focus efforts on the most suitable hero who already has high reputation.

12

If you're playing retroactively — in modern game versions, Shadowlands content no longer receives constant updates, yet the Korthia zone and the Death's Advance faction are available, meaning the mount can still be obtained the same way.

13

Don't forget the adjacent rewards — besides the Fierce Razorwing, the paragon cache contains two other mounts and a pet, so even "unlucky" openings add to your collection.
