Overview

Fiery Dragonhawk

Game iconFiery Dragonhawk is a flying mount added in the Midnight expansion (patch 12.0.0). It is a dragonhawk with vivid fiery wings that, according to the developers, "shine as brightly as the leaves of their native Eversong forests." The mount supports the skyriding system and is available to both factions.

The Fiery Dragonhawk is purchased from a vendor of the Silvermoon Court faction in the Eversong Woods. To buy it, you will need to reach renown level 19 with this faction and gather 8,000 units of the Umbral Marl currency.

The mount becomes account-bound on pickup, so once purchased it will be available to all characters on your account.

Where to Find the Vendor

Caeris Fairdawn — Salteril's Haven

The Silvermoon Court renown vendor is located in Salteril's Haven, a small settlement in the Eversong Woods, southwest of Silvermoon and next to the village of Gentle Breeze.

Caeris stands in a gazebo at the top of the stairs in Salteril's Haven. The easiest way to reach her is through the portal to Silvermoon, then southwest along the road. If you already have the flight point at Gentle Breeze unlocked, simply fly to it and turn west.

How to Reach Renown Level 19 with the Silvermoon Court

The Silvermoon Court is one of the four renown factions in Midnight (alongside the Amani Tribe, Hara'ti, and the Singularity). Increasing renown unlocks new wares from Caeris Fairdawn, and at level 19 the Fiery Dragonhawk becomes available.

Main Sources of Renown

Story campaign. Completing the main story and side quests in the Eversong Woods provides a significant reputation boost at the start.

World quests. They refresh twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Complete all available quests in the Eversong Woods for steady reputation gains. You can also use the "Contract: Silvermoon Court" made by a scribe — it grants bonus reputation for each world quest in any Midnight zone.

Salteril's Dinner Party. A weekly event in Salteril's Haven — one of the most significant sources of reputation. You choose one of four noble subfactions, and for completing the event's tasks you earn reputation with the Silvermoon Court.

Rare enemies. Rare mobs are scattered across the Eversong Woods, and killing them (once per character) grants reputation and sometimes Umbral Marl.

Weekly quests. Dungeon quests, PvP quests from Zerella in Silvermoon, and Bountiful Delves (twice a week) all bring reputation.

Reputation Accelerators

  • Darkmoon Faire — 10% reputation bonus (monthly)
  • World Quest Bonus Event — +50% reputation
  • Winds of Mystic Fortune — +50% reputation

How to Earn 8,000 Umbral Marl

Umbral Marl is the main currency of the Midnight expansion. It is needed to purchase rewards from the vendors of all four renown factions.

Currency Sources

World quests and events. World quests in Midnight zones regularly award Umbral Marl as a reward.

The Quarry system. The fastest farming method. Speak to the NPC Astalor Bloodsworn on Murder Row in Silvermoon, take a hunt quest, complete a world quest marked with the Quarry tag, and then activate the traps (glowing red crystals). This method can yield up to 2,000 marl per hour with an optimal rotation.

Renown milestones. At renown levels 6, 12, and 18 with each faction, you receive 500 Umbral Marl each.

Currency exchange. If you run delves, you can trade 2,000 Restored Coffer Keys for an Explorer's Bag with Umbral Marl (250 marl).

Alternate characters. Characters who have reached maximum renown with a faction begin earning Umbral Marl instead of reputation for any activity that previously granted renown. This is an effective way to accumulate currency for players with multiple level 80 characters.

Step-by-Step Acquisition Guide

  1. Reach level 80 and complete the introductory Midnight campaign in the Eversong Woods.
  2. Unlock the Silvermoon Court faction — it becomes available as you progress through the main story.
  3. Complete world quests and weekly activities and take part in Salteril's Dinner Party to gain renown.
  4. At the same time, accumulate Umbral Marl through the Quarry system, world quests, and reputation milestones.
  5. Once you reach renown level 19, head to Caeris Fairdawn in Salteril's Haven (43.4, 47.4 in the Eversong Woods).
  6. Buy the Fiery Dragonhawk for 8,000 Umbral Marl.
  7. Use the item — the mount will appear in the mount journal for all characters on the account.

Other Dragonhawks in Midnight

The Fiery Dragonhawk is not the only mount of this type in the expansion. If you like the dragonhawk model, take a look at the other variants as well:

Mount How to Obtain
Game iconCobalt Dragonhawk Drop from rare mobs in the Eversong Woods (daily farm)
Game iconCrimson Dragonhawk "Glyph Seeker in Midnight" achievement (all skyriding glyphs across the four Quel'Thalas zones)
Shadow Dragonhawk "Life of the Party" achievement (maximum reputation with all four noble subfactions)
Peridot Dragonhawk Reward for the "From Darkness, Light" quest (expected in a future patch)

Tips

1

Reaching renown level 19 takes several weeks of active play. Don't try to rush the process at the expense of enjoyment — Umbral Marl will accumulate alongside your reputation.

2

Use the scribe's Silvermoon Court contract if you spend most of your time in other Midnight zones — that way every world quest will bring bonus reputation.

3

If you have several level 80 characters, max out renown on one, then farm marl on alts — they will earn the currency instead of reputation.

4

Keep an eye on bonus events (Darkmoon Faire, World Quest bonus) and time your intensive reputation grind to coincide with them.

5

The Quarry system via Astalor Bloodsworn in Silvermoon is the fastest way to accumulate marl if you already have the reputation but are short on currency.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
