TBC Classic First Aid Profession Guide (Phase 3)

First Aid is a secondary profession — it doesn't take up either of your two main slots, so it's absolutely worth leveling for everyone.

Bandages provide the cheapest healing in the game. They don't cost mana, work on any class, and take the load off your healer during those moments when they can't keep everyone up. In dungeons and arenas this literally saves runs: bandaging between fights saves both time and drinks.

It's especially important for classes without self-healing — warriors, rogues, mages. For them, bandages are often the only way to recover without sitting down to eat.

The material is cloth, which drops from humanoids just about everywhere. The profession costs nothing, levels up fast, and doesn't require a single extra slot.

Trainers are available in every capital city. There are no character-level requirements.

First Aid has no trainer for 300+: you need books sold by medics in Hellfire Peninsula.

The only material you need is cloth. Here's the full list for the entire path from 1 to 375:

It's easier to buy all cloth up to Runecloth from the auction house: it costs next to nothing, because it drops from everything and nobody wants it. It makes sense to buy the exact amount you need right away, so you can complete the profession in a single go.

Here you need Manual: Mageweave Bandage. The recipe stays yellow for a long time, so stock up on extra cloth.

Yes, Runecloth again — the Outland recipes only unlock at skill 330. On the plus side, the cloth itself is dirt cheap by this point.

• Netherweave Bandage x45

You'll need:

You need Manual: Netherweave Bandage. Netherweave Cloth drops from any Outland humanoids, so you won't have any trouble getting it.

Levels 360-375

• Heavy Netherweave Bandage x20

You'll need:

x40 Netherweave Cloth

The final recipe is unlocked by the book Manual: Heavy Netherweave Bandage. These are exactly the bandages you'll carry with you from here on.

Keep a stack of Heavy Netherweave Bandages in your bag at all times — that's your free supply of healing between fights.

Selling bandages is almost pointless: everyone makes their own. Extra Netherweave Cloth, on the other hand, sells steadily on the auction house, because it's needed by tailors and everyone leveling First Aid after you.

And remember the limitation: bandaging is interrupted by any damage, and you can only re-apply a bandage to the same target after a minute. In combat it works as a one-time window, not as a replacement for a healer.
