How to Reach the Firelands
Mount Hyjal, Kalimdor. Coordinates: ~47, 78. Take the Cataclysm portal from your capital city → Mount Hyjal → head south toward Sulfuron Spire. No prerequisite quests required.
Flametalon of Alysrazor — Drop from Alysrazor
Flametalon of Alysrazor is a ground mount (despite the wings). ~2%. Alysrazor is one of the first 4 bosses (order is your choice). Also available on the Black Market Auction House.
Smoldering Egg of Millagazor — Drop from Ragnaros
Smoldering Egg of Millagazor is a flying mount (Pureblood Fire Hawk). ~1%. Drops from Ragnaros — the final boss. It used to be a guaranteed 100% drop on Heroic, reduced in patch 5.0.5.
Order: 4 bosses of your choice → Baleroc → Majordomo Staghelm → Ragnaros.
Weekly Farming Tips
Clear the raid fully — two mount chances per run. 10-15 minutes. Difficulty does not affect the drop chance. Bonus: Glory of the Firelands Raider grants a third mount — 
Corrupted Egg of Millagazor.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Flametalon is a ground mount. Both mounts drop on Normal and Heroic with the same chance.
