Forsaken Warhorse
Overview

Forsaken Warhorse is a ground mount of the Horde faction, added to World of Warcraft in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion (patch 3.1.0). It is a grim skeletal horse clad in heavy battle armor bearing the heraldry of the Undercity — the capital of the Forsaken. Skeletal horses have long served as the primary means of transport for the undead, and this specimen was specially prepared for the knights representing the Undercity at the Argent Tournament.
The mount is purchased from the Undercity quartermaster at the Argent Tournament grounds in Icecrown for 100 Champion's Seals. To buy it, you must play as the undead or earn the Champion of the Undercity achievement.
Why You Want This Mount
- Unique skeletal horse model — the Forsaken Warhorse differs from the standard racial undead horses with its special heraldic armor and the styling characteristic of Argent Tournament rewards. It is one of the few skeletal horses with a tournament caparison
- Part of a larger collection — the Argent Tournament sells five Horde faction mounts, five Alliance mounts, as well as shared mounts such as the
Sunreaver Dragonhawk and the
Argent Warhorse. While you save up seals, it makes sense to collect them all - Available account-wide — once purchased, the mount appears in the collection of all your Horde characters
- No element of chance — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, the Forsaken Warhorse is guaranteed to be purchased for a fixed amount of currency. It is only a matter of time
- Progress toward the Crusader title — purchasing all of the Argent Tournament faction mounts is tied to progression through the champion ranks, which unlocks the "Crusader" title and additional daily quests

If your character is undead, access to the Undercity quartermaster opens automatically as soon as you reach the rank of Champion of at least one city. For characters of other Horde races, you will need to complete the quest chain specifically for the Undercity.
How to Reach the Argent Tournament
The Argent Tournament is located in the northeastern part of the Icecrown zone in Northrend.
- Open the portal room in Orgrimmar and use the "Dalaran, Crystalsong" portal — it will transport you to Dalaran (Northrend)
- From Dalaran, fly north — the Argent Tournament grounds are in Icecrown, to the northeast of Sindragosa's Fall. The flight takes about a minute
- Land on the tournament grounds — you will see the faction tents, training areas and the Argent Coliseum
How to Obtain
The path to the mount consists of two stages: first you complete the Argent Tournament quest chain up to the rank of Champion of the Undercity, and then you save up 100 Champion's Seals for the purchase.
Stage 1: Earning the Rank of Champion of the Undercity
Progression at the Argent Tournament goes through three ranks: Aspirant, Valiant and Champion.
Aspirant Rank (3 days)
- Speak with the representative of your race in the Horde tent on the tournament grounds and take the starting quest
- Complete three training tasks: "Up to the Challenge", "A Blade Fit for a Champion" and "The Edge of Winter" — they will teach you how to use the tournament lance while mounted
- Complete the Aspirant daily quests, collecting 5 Aspirant's Seals per day. Advancing to the next rank requires 15 seals — this will take 3 days
Valiant Rank (5 days)
- Choose the city you will fight for — for this mount you need the Undercity
- Complete the Valiant daily quests, which yield 5 Valiant's Seals per day
- Advancing to the rank of Champion requires 25 seals — this will take 5 days
- After collecting 25 seals, take the "The Valiant's Challenge" quest and defeat the NPC champion in the lists
Champion Rank
After the victory you earn the Champion of the Undercity achievement and access to the Undercity quartermaster. The minimum time from the start to the rank of Champion is 8 days.
Stage 2: Collecting 100 Champion's Seals
After earning the rank of Champion, daily quests that grant Champion's Seals open up to you. On average you can earn 7–10 seals per day, depending on the number of unlocked cities and quests.
Main sources of seals:
| Source | Seals per day |
|---|---|
| Champion daily quests (4 quests) | 4 |
| "Among the Champions" quest | 1 |
| "Threat From Above" quest | 2 |
| "A Worthy Weapon" quest | 1 |
| Heroic dungeon Trial of the Champion | 3 |
| Additional Crusader quests (after the title) | 3 |
| Total (maximum) | up to 14 |
Earning 7–10 seals per day, collecting 100 will take approximately 10–14 days of daily quests. With the Crusader title — 7–8 days.
Stage 3: Purchasing the Mount
- Find the Undercity quartermaster in the Horde tent on the Argent Tournament grounds
- Speak with them and select the
Forsaken Warhorse from the list of goods - Pay 100 Champion's Seals — the mount will appear in your inventory
- Use the item, and the mount will be added to your collection
How Long It Will Take
| Stage | Duration |
|---|---|
| Aspirant | 3 days |
| Valiant (Undercity) | 5 days |
| Collecting 100 seals (7–10/day) | 10–14 days |
| Total | 18–22 days |
If you are already a Crusader and earn 12–14 seals per day, collecting 100 seals shrinks to 7–8 days.
Other Argent Tournament Mounts for the Horde
Each of the five Horde cities has its own quartermaster with a unique faction mount. All mounts cost 100 Champion's Seals each, and to buy one you must be a Champion of the corresponding city (or belong to that city's race).
| Mount | City | Purchase condition |
|---|---|---|
| Orgrimmar | Champion of Orgrimmar or orc | |
| Thunder Bluff | Champion of Thunder Bluff or tauren | |
| Sen'jin | Champion of Sen'jin or troll | |
| Silvermoon | Champion of Silvermoon or blood elf | |
| Undercity | Champion of the Undercity or undead |
In addition to the faction mounts, the tournament sells shared mounts: the
Argent Warhorse (100 seals) and the flying
Sunreaver Dragonhawk (150 seals).
Optimizing Seal Farming
Become a Crusader
The "Crusader" title is awarded for earning the rank of Champion of all five of your faction's cities and reaching exalted with all five racial factions. After that, additional daily quests open up that increase your daily seal income to 12–14. Leveling all five cities takes about 25 days from the start, but it pays off in the long run if you are collecting several mounts.
Heroic Dungeon "Trial of the Champion"
The heroic mode of Trial of the Champion gives 3 Champion's Seals per clear. At level 80 in The War Within, the dungeon is cleared solo in a couple of minutes. Don't forget to go in every day — it significantly speeds up the farm.
Multiple Characters
Champion's Seals are a personal currency, but the mount is added to the shared account collection. If you want to collect all the tournament mounts faster, level a second character in parallel and buy different mounts on different characters.
Tips
Start with your home city — if your character is undead, you gain access to the Undercity quartermaster right after reaching the rank of Champion, bypassing the need to separately complete the chain for that city. This saves 5 days
Combine quests — most of the Argent Tournament daily quests are completed in the same zones of Icecrown. Plan your route so you don't fly back and forth
Don't skip "Threat From Above" — this quest grants 2 seals for killing a dragon and is completed quickly. At level 80 in The War Within, the enemy dies in a few seconds
Buy the tournament tabard — the
Argent Crusader's Tabard (50 seals) teleports you to the tournament grounds every 30 minutes, sparing you from having to fly through Dalaran each time
The tournament lance is mandatory — for the quests in the lists, equip a tournament lance, which can be taken from the weapon racks next to the training dummies on the tournament grounds
At level 80 everything is trivial — the mounted jousts, group quests and heroic dungeon are cleared solo without difficulty. Wrath of the Lich King content has long been outdated, and the entire cycle of daily tasks takes no more than 15–20 minutes
Plan all five mounts — if you want to collect all the Horde city mounts, you will need 500 Champion's Seals and Champion status in all five cities. The Crusader title significantly speeds up the overall farm
