Frostwolf Howler

Frostwolf Howler is an epic ground mount added in patch 1.5.0 of the original World of Warcraft. It is a massive white wolf with a red saddle and blue armor, raised by the Frostwolf clan in the Alterac Mountains. The mount is available only to Horde characters and is purchased from PvP vendors for 15 Marks of Honor.

The Frostwolf Howler is one of the oldest PvP mounts in the game. Originally, acquiring it required Exalted reputation with the Frostwolf Clan and an enormous sum of gold, but over time the requirements were significantly streamlined. Today it is one of the most accessible epic mounts obtained through PvP content.

To buy the mount you need to accumulate 15 Marks of Honor and visit one of the two Frostwolf clan vendors.

1. Earn 15 Marks of Honor through PvP activities
2. Head to one of the vendors: Grunnda Wolfheart in Alterac Valley or Jorek Ironside in the Hillsbrad Foothills
3. Purchase the Horn of the Frostwolf Howler for 15 Marks of Honor
4. Use the item — the mount will be added to your mount collection

Marks of Honor are an account-bound PvP currency. You can earn them on any character and mail them to whoever will be buying the mount.

Main Sources

• Battlegrounds — Marks of Honor drop from the strongboxes you receive for winning or participating in battlegrounds. A win gives a higher chance to receive Marks
• Epic battlegrounds — large-scale battlegrounds (Alterac Valley, Isle of Conquest, Ashran) frequently reward Marks of Honor
• Arenas — rated arenas also have a chance to award Marks
• Rated battlegrounds — a reliable source of Marks of Honor when you play actively
• Honor point exchange — you can trade 2,000 Honor points for 5 Marks of Honor from the NPC Captain Dawnseeker in Silvermoon

How Long It Takes

With active PvP, 15 Marks of Honor can be earned in 2–4 hours of play. If you get lucky with Marks dropping from strongboxes, the process can take even less time. During a battleground bonus event, farming speeds up by roughly 50%.
