Frostwolf Snarler
Overview

Frostwolf Snarler is an epic ground mount from the wolf family, added in patch 8.2.5 of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. It is an upgraded version of the
Swift Frostwolf, rendered with higher-quality models and textures. The mount is available exclusively during World of Warcraft anniversary events — it first appeared at the game's 15th anniversary in November 2019.
The in-game description of the mount reads: "A breed of wolves raised in the Alterac Mountains by the Frostwolf clan." The Snarler is a massive wolf with thick fur and Horde war barding, emphasizing its origin from the legendary Frostwolf clan — one of the oldest orc clans.
The mount is tied to the Horde faction; however, when you obtain it you also automatically learn its Alliance counterpart — the
Stormpike Battle Ram. Both mounts are available on all characters of your account.
Why You Want This Mount
- Unique model — the Frostwolf Snarler uses an updated wolf model with enhanced texture detail. It is one of the most striking wolf models in the game.
- Two mounts for one achievement — when you obtain the Snarler, you automatically learn the Stormpike Battle Ram as well. In effect, you add two mounts to your collection from a single activity.
- A nod to the classics — the mount is directly tied to classic Alterac Valley and the Frostwolf clan. For game veterans, it's a piece of nostalgia.
- Available account-wide — once obtained, the mount is available on any character of your account, regardless of faction.
- Guaranteed acquisition — the mount does not depend on a random drop. Simply complete the achievement and the reward is yours.
How to Obtain
The Frostwolf Snarler is a reward for the achievement They Once Were Warriors. To complete this achievement, you must earn 200 Timewarped Badges by participating in the special battleground Korrak's Revenge.
The Korrak's Revenge battleground is only available during World of Warcraft anniversary events. Starting with the 20th anniversary, the anniversary event became permanent, so Korrak's Revenge now periodically appears in the bonus battleground rotation.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Wait for an anniversary event to go live or for the "Korrak's Revenge" bonus battleground rotation.
- Open the "Group Finder" window (H key by default) and go to the "PvP" tab.
- Find "Korrak's Revenge" under the "Bonus Battlegrounds" section and queue up.
- Participate in the battles and earn Timewarped Badges.
- Accumulate 200 badges on a single character.
- After completing the achievement, the mount will automatically appear in your collection.
Ways to Earn Timewarped Badges
Within the Korrak's Revenge battleground, various activities are available, each rewarding a certain number of badges:
| Activity | Badges |
|---|---|
| Match victory | ~20 |
| Match defeat | ~10 |
| Capturing a graveyard | ~10 |
| Capturing a tower | ~10 |
| Capturing a mine | ~10 |
| Turning in 20 armor scraps | ~1 |
| Completing supply quests | ~10 |
Requirements
- Minimum level: 10.
- Riding skill: Apprentice Riding or higher.
- Event: World of Warcraft anniversary event or the Korrak's Revenge bonus battleground rotation.
- Achievement on a single character: all 200 badges must be earned on one character; progress does not stack across characters.
Tips for Quick Acquisition
- Focus on victories — a victory yields twice as many badges as a defeat. Try to coordinate with your group: collecting armor scraps, capturing towers and graveyards all bring you closer to victory.
- Complete objectives inside the battleground — quests for turning in resources and capturing objectives grant extra badges on top of those awarded for the match's outcome. Don't ignore PvE activities.
- Korrak's Revenge is PvE-friendly — this battleground features many NPC enemies, elite mobs, and bosses. You can contribute to your team's victory by killing NPCs and completing quests, even if you don't want to fight other players directly.
- Collect armor scraps — they drop from slain NPCs and players. Turn them in to a special NPC at your base in batches of 20. Scraps disappear at the end of the match, so turn them in before the battle ends.
- Capture objectives — each captured objective (tower, mine, graveyard) yields badges. If your main group has pushed ahead, try to capture undefended points in the enemy's rear.
- Watch the counter — achievement progress is shown in the bonus objective tracker. You can monitor how many badges remain to be earned right during the battle.
- Don't log off early — badges for victory or defeat are only awarded at the end of the match. If you leave the battleground before it ends, you forfeit the reward for that match.
- Check your mount collection — after earning the achievement, the mount may appear in your collection automatically, without needing to use an item from your inventory. If the mount doesn't appear, relog and disable your add-ons.
