Reins of the Fur-endship Fox is a flying mount added to World of Warcraft in the Dragonflight expansion (patch 10.2.5, January 2024). It is a pink magical fox with heart-shaped tack, a design tied to the annual Love is in the Air holiday. The item's flavor text reads: "These magical creatures thrive on love and friendship."
The mount is sold at the Trading Post for 750 Trader's Tender and belongs to the sky fox family. Besides the pink fox, color variants have appeared at the Trading Post in different months:
Reins of the Soaring Sky Fox (blue) and
Reins of the Twilight Sky Prowler (purple).
The only path to the mount is purchasing it during a month when the
Reins of the Fur-endship Fox is in the reward rotation. The mount first appeared in February 2024 and then returned in February 2025 and February 2026.
Trader's Tender is the main currency of the Trading Post. It is account-bound and never expires: any accumulated balance automatically carries over to the next month.
| Source | Amount per month |
|---|---|
| Trading Post chest (for logging in) | 500 |
| Filling the Traveler's Log bar | up to 500 |
| Total monthly maximum | 1,000 |
If you logged in and received only the 500 Tender from the chest, you won't be able to save up the required 750 in a single month — you'll have to either spend part of the balance from previous months or complete the log's monthly tasks.
The Traveler's Log refreshes on the first day of each month. It contains a set of themed tasks that grant progress points. Rewards for progress milestones:
| Progress | Reward |
|---|---|
| 50% | 250 Trader's Tender |
| 100% | 250 Tender and a monthly cosmetic item |
To complete the bar, you only need to finish some of the tasks — not all of them. Among the typical activities:
If you start collecting the currency from scratch, a single month won't be enough — the cap is 1,000 Tender, but 250 of them are unavailable without fully completing the log. Optimal saving strategies:
If you missed the February rotation or want a safety net, save up the currency in advance. Any Trader's Tender left in your wallet carries over to the next month with no limits. By the following February you may have accumulated enough not only for the fox, but for other rewards as well.
Bring alts in to complete tasks — many log tasks count for activities on any character on the account. If your main hero is tired of grinding, switch to an alt in the current expansion.
Watch for Trading Post announcements — news outlets publish the next month's assortment a few days before the refresh, giving you time to prepare.
Don't waste your Tender — if there's nothing interesting this month, save the currency for expensive rewards (some Trading Post mounts cost 900 Tender)
Use seasonal events to speed up progress — log tasks are often synced with current holidays. In February it's Love is in the Air, which makes filling the bar easier.
The mount is bound on acquisition — you can't sell it or give it to another player, but it automatically unlocks on all characters on the account.
The pink fox looks great paired with other "heart" rewards — the Romantic's set and Love is in the Air pets create a single festive look.
If you missed the February rotation, don't despair — Blizzard has steadily returned the
Reins of the Fur-endship Fox to the Trading Post every February since the release of patch 10.2.5.
