Get Garfrost's Two-Ton Hammer
Overview

Garfrost's Two-Ton Hammer is a two-handed bludgeoning hammer hailing from the Wrath of the Lich King era. It is a rough, deliberately bulky weapon: a massive steel head studded with spikes on a heavy, iron-banded haft, as if hammered together in a hurry by a giant blacksmith. Its silhouette reads from a distance and perfectly captures the look of a "barbaric" hammer.
The weapon suits every specialization that wields two-handed hammers in melee — Warriors, Death Knights, and Paladins. In terms of stats, it is a long-obsolete item level 207 piece, so today it is taken purely for its appearance.
For transmog collectors, the value here lies in its distinctive "smithy" aesthetic: the hammer fits well into sets of harsh plate armor and into looks that call for a heavy, no-nonsense instrument of destruction.
Source
The hammer drops from the first boss of the Pit of Saron dungeon — Forgemaster Garfrost.
- The dungeon is located in Icecrown Citadel on the continent of Northrend.
- Garfrost stands at the entrance to the dungeon, roughly at
/way 68 55.3, so you don't need to clear a long path to reach him. - The hammer's drop chance from the boss is around 1.5%, so it's worth coming back for the appearance regularly.
- There is no limit on visiting the dungeon: you can run it as many times as you need, resetting the instance between runs.
- At max level, Garfrost is killed in mere seconds solo, and no group is required.
- The content belongs to old expansions, so item level and stats are irrelevant — the only goal of the run is the transmog.
Who It Suits Visually
- Suits the look of a grim warrior or blacksmith — the heavy, spiked head sets an "industrial" tone.
- Harmonizes with massive plate sets in steel and dark-gray colors.
- Looks great in Wrath of the Lich King–era Death Knight sets thanks to the shared Northrend theme.
- Contrasts with elegant, ornamental armor — a debatable but striking pairing of the crude and the refined.
- Because of its large dimensions, it reads better on bulky races than on petite models.
Tips
Reset the dungeon between runs to farm the boss in a loop: open the group menu and reset all dungeons before re-entering.
Set the difficulty to Heroic if you want to collect the epic version of the hammer at an increased chance at the same time.
Farm on a character with high movement speed — the path from the entrance to Garfrost is minimal, and quick re-entry saves time.
Keep in mind the daily limit on the number of dungeon entries: during mass farming you can hit the cap within an hour and have to wait.
Hunt for the hammer in series of several runs — with a chance of around 1.5%, it's smarter to bank attempts in a batch rather than one at a time.
While you're at it, pick up another appearance from the bosses of the Pit of Saron: the dungeon is short, and a single clear covers several targets at once.
