Garnet Razorwing

Garnet Razorwing is an epic flying mount added in Patch 9.1.0 "Chains of Domination". It is a vivid red-garnet razorwing — a winged creature from Korthia that gained its coloring from the red flowers this land was once famous for.

The mount drops with a rare chance (~3%) from Reliwik the Defiant, a rare creature on the Vault of Secrets island in southern Korthia.

The Vault of Secrets is a floating island in the southern part of Korthia. You cannot reach it directly — you will need special transport.

Step 1 — Get to Korthia

Korthia is accessible through a portal in Oribos. If you haven't played Shadowlands in a while, you will need to complete the introductory Korthia quest chain, which begins with the quest "Korthia, City of Secrets".

Step 2 — Reach Keeper's Respite

Keeper's Respite is the main hub in Korthia. Here you will find quest givers, vendors, and transport to the Vault of Secrets.

Step 3 — Use the Transporter

At the edge of the cliff in Keeper's Respite, in the necrolord camp, stands a Skinwing Transporter. Coordinates: /way 60.8 28.5. Click on the creature — it will carry you to the Vault of Secrets island. The return transporter is on the island itself.

Important: access to the Vault of Secrets opens after completing the quest chain with Tal-Galan, Keeper of Secrets. If the transporter is inactive, check whether you have completed all the required quests in Korthia.

Reliwik the Defiant does not stand around like an ordinary rare mob. He must be summoned through a special interaction.

Step 1 — Find the Nest

On the northeastern edge of the Vault of Secrets island lies a large nest. Coordinates: /way 56.3 66.1.

Step 2 — Click the Egg

In the nest sits an Unspoiled Razorwing Egg. Click on it — Reliwik the Defiant will fly in and land beside the nest.

Step 3 — Defeat Reliwik

Reliwik the Defiant is a level 61 rare creature. At the current content level (Midnight), he is killed in a few seconds by any character.

Tip: pull Reliwik away from the edge of the cliff so his body doesn't fall off — otherwise you won't be able to collect the loot.

Step 4 — Check the Loot

If you are lucky, the loot will include the Garnet Razorwing. The drop chance is roughly 3%, so be prepared for a lengthy farm.

Respawn and Availability

• The nest with the egg does not appear every day. Reliwik the Defiant works on a rotation with other rare creatures of Korthia.
• When the nest is active, the egg appears roughly every 15–20 minutes after the previous kill.
• There is no daily kill limit — you can farm many times while the nest is available.
• Check for the nest by flying to the island. If there is no nest, Reliwik is unavailable that day.

Optimization Tips

• Use multiple characters. The mount is account-bound, so you can farm on any character. Create a group in the group finder to land on a server where the nest is active.
• The HandyNotes: Shadowlands addon will mark the locations of rare creatures on the Korthia map, including Reliwik's nest.
• The RareScanner addon will play a sound alert when a rare creature is detected nearby.
• Check daily. A visit takes less than a minute — fly in, look at the nest, and if it's not there, come back tomorrow.
• Farm in a group. The mount can drop for every group member, so farming in a group does not reduce your chances.
