Genesis Crawler

Genesis Crawler is an epic ground mount added in patch 9.2 "Eternity's End" of the Shadowlands expansion. It is a mechanical tarachnid — a spider-like creature created through the Protoform Synthesis system in the Zereth Mortis zone. According to the Enlightened who studied the tarachnids, this species may have been one of the first creatures to ever walk the land of Zereth Mortis.

The mount features a unique model of a progenitor spider with a brass-gray coloration. Your character rides on the back of the tarachnid, and while moving the creature displays its characteristic spider gait with smooth animations.

• Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is created through the crafting system rather than dropping with a percentage chance. Once you gather all the materials and find the schematic, the mount is yours
• Unique model — the Genesis Crawler belongs to the family of progenitor spiders that are available exclusively in Zereth Mortis. The brass-gray coloration sets it apart from other tarachnids
• Available to all characters — once learned, the mount becomes available on every character on your account
• Requires no gold — unlike vendor mounts, creating the Genesis Crawler only requires materials from Zereth Mortis
• Collector's value — the mount is part of the list of mounts available through Protoform Synthesis and is prized by collectors

To create the mount, you must unlock the Protoform Synthesis system, find the schematic, and gather three types of materials.

1. Arrive in Zereth Mortis and complete the zone's main storyline up to the point where the Cypher Console is unlocked in the Reliquary of Remembrance
2. Research the "Comprehension of Sopranian" talent in the Cypher Console — it unlocks the ability to create mounts
3. Complete the "In Search of Tual" quest chain, which begins in the Enlightened camp at the Pilgrim's Reception
4. Complete the "Lost Component" and "A New Architect" quests to unlock the Protoform Synthesis mount forge
5. Find the Schematic: Genesis Crawler at the coordinates /way 31.5 50.3 in the Genesis Vestibule — climb up the golden triangular structure on the left
6. Pick up the schematic — it will start the quest Recovering the Schematic: Genesis Crawler
7. Bring the schematic to the Protoform Synthesis forge
8. Gather the required materials and create the mount at the forge

Genesis Motes (400 units)

Genesis Motes are the primary resource for Protoform Synthesis. They drop from practically any mob in Zereth Mortis: wild animals, elementals, and invading devourers.

• Kill mobs in groups — mass farming speeds up the gathering
• Rare and elite enemies grant more motes per kill
• Combine mote gathering with completing world quests in the zone
• At max level, mobs in Zereth Mortis die almost instantly, which significantly speeds up the process

Tarachnid Matrix (1 unit)

The Tarachnid Matrix determines the type of creature being created. It drops from spider-like mobs in Zereth Mortis.

• Look for tarachnids in the southern and central parts of the zone
• Elite and rare tarachnids have an increased drop chance
• Among the sources is the rare mob Mother Festis and other large tarachnids

Orb of Pure Resourcefulness (1 unit)

The Orb of Pure Resourcefulness is a rare component needed to "bring the mount to life."

• Guaranteed source: one orb is located in the Reliquary of Remembrance, on the little bed of the tiny pet Ci (next to a murloc plush toy). Enter the cave, head left from Firim — the orb sits on a shelf by the table
• Repeatable source: orbs drop from Olea's caches scattered throughout Zereth Mortis
• If the orb in the Reliquary of Remembrance is missing, wait about an hour or toggle War Mode to change the phase
