Giganto Manis — How to Get the Pangolin Mount from Midnight Delves
Giganto Manis — Ground Pangolin from Delves

Giganto Manis is a massive pangolin with a dark forest coloring, one of the most memorable mounts of the Midnight expansion. This is a ground mount with a +60% or +100% movement speed bonus depending on your riding skill. The in-game description reads: "Whispers speak of Giganto Manis — a titanic creature dwelling in the very veins of Azeroth."
The mount is awarded for completing the meta-achievement Glory of the Midnight Delver. This is a long-term goal designed for the entire first season of Midnight — it cannot be completed quickly.
Why You Want This Mount
Giganto Manis shares its model with three other pangolins — Blessed Amani Burrower, Pango of the Withered Bark, and a couple of unused color variants. However, the dark purple coloring of Giganto Manis is unique and only available through the achievement. The mount is account-bound, so once obtained it will appear on all your characters.
Requirements
- Level 80 character (current maximum in Midnight)
- Riding skill (Apprentice Riding, available from level 10)
- Access to all 10 Midnight delves and the Nemesis delve Torment's Rise
- Leveled companion Valira Sanguinar (to obtain rank 4 curios)
Glory of the Midnight Delver Achievement
The meta-achievement Glory of the Midnight Delver requires completing four sub-achievements. Let's break down each one.
1. Delve Lore Expert: Midnight
Delve Lore Expert: Midnight — complete all story variants of each of the ten Midnight delves.
Each delve has three story variants that rotate daily at reset. This means the achievement requires at least several days — you cannot see all variants in one session. Track progress with the Midnight Delve Stories addon, which shows which story variants have been completed.
Tip: Enter delves every day and check which variant is active. If a needed variant hasn't appeared yet — complete it, even if you don't need the reward.
2. Curio Collector: Midnight
Curio Collector: Midnight — collect all curios for companion Valira Sanguinar and upgrade each to rank 4.
Curios are equipment slots for Valira, divided into combat and utility. They drop from chests at the end of delves with increasing quality: common (rank 1) to epic (rank 4). You can equip one combat and one utility curio at a time.
Combat curios:
- Holy Bounding Hand Grenade
- Mantle of Stars
- Entropic Void Dagger
- Overflowing Void Spire
- Porcelain Arrowhead
Utility curios:
- Ebony Crown of Subjugation
- Decree of the Sanctuary
- Decree of Lost Time
- Mandate of Holy Death
- Immovable Void Tide
Tip: Rank 4 (epic) curios start dropping consistently at high delve difficulty levels — 8 and above. Run delves regularly, and over time all curios will reach epic quality.
3. Midnight: All Treasures Found
Midnight: All Treasures Found — find and open all sturdy chests in all Midnight delves.
Each delve has 3 hidden sturdy chests. Most are available regardless of the active story variant, but some may only appear in certain variants. Chests are located in side rooms, dead ends, and elevated areas — explore every corner.
List of delves where you need to find chests:
| Delve | Zone |
|---|---|
| Atal'Aman | Zul'Aman |
| Collegiate Calamity | Quel'Danas |
| Parhelion Plaza | Quel'Danas |
| Shadowguard Point | Ghostlands |
| Sunkiller Sanctum | Ghostlands |
| The Darkway | Silvermoon |
| The Grudge Pit | Zul'Aman |
| The Gulf of Memory | Ghostlands |
| The Shadow Enclave | Ghostlands |
| Twilight Crypts | Zul'Aman |
Tip: Explore the delve fully before killing the final boss. Sturdy chests are often in side passages that are easy to miss if heading straight for the objective.
4. My Shadow Nemesis
My Shadow Nemesis — defeat the seasonal Nemesis Nullaeus in his lair.
Nullaeus is the sole boss of the Torment's Rise delve, located in the Voidstorm zone, southeast of Obscurion Citadel. The delve is available at difficulty levels 8 and 11.
How to unlock:
- Level 8: complete any level 7 delve with at least one life remaining
- Level 11: complete any level 10 delve with at least one life remaining
Recommended item level: 255 for level 8, 274 for level 11.
Key Nullaeus mechanics:
- Intermission phases at 75%, 50%, and 25% health — last 30 seconds or until all spawned adds are destroyed
- Ability Emptiness of the Void — if not interrupted, you will die. This is the main mechanic of the entire fight
- During intermissions, additional enemies spawn that must be killed quickly
Valira setup tip: If you play tank or DPS, assign Valira the healer role. She will dispel Consuming Essence and remove the bleed from Carapace Ravagers.
Important: The My Shadow Nemesis achievement must be completed before the next delve season begins. For the meta-achievement, defeating Nullaeus at any difficulty level is sufficient — level 11 is not required.
Step-by-Step Plan
Make sure you have access to all delves. The Darkway and Parhelion Plaza unlock as the first season progresses — verify both delves are available on your map.
Start with daily delves. Complete at least 1-2 delves each day, paying attention to the story variant. This simultaneously progresses three sub-achievements: story variants, chests, and curios.
Explore delves fully. Don't rush to the boss — check side passages and dead ends to find sturdy chests.
Increase difficulty. Rank 4 curios appear more frequently at high difficulty levels (8+). As your item level grows, move to harder delve levels.
Unlock and defeat Nullaeus. When your item level reaches 255+, complete a level 7 delve with a spare life and head to Torment's Rise.
Claim your mount. After completing all four sub-achievements, the meta-achievement will automatically complete, and
Giganto Manis will appear in your mount collection.
Optimization Tips
Track progress. Install the Midnight Delve Stories addon for story variant tracking. The built-in achievement tracker shows which chests and curios are still missing.
Don't rush. The achievement is designed for the entire season. Story variants rotate daily, and rank 4 curios require many runs. A steady pace of 2-3 delves per day is optimal.
Use the right Valira role. For comfortable high-difficulty runs, tanks and DPS should set Valira to healer. If you're a healer — switch her to DPS.
Sturdy chests don't depend on difficulty. They can be collected even at level 1 if you only need chest progress.
Additional Nullaeus rewards. Defeating Nullaeus at level 11 grants the "Sinister" title and the "Illuminating the Darkness" achievement. Defeating him solo at level 11 — the Arcanovoid Construct mount and "Let Me Solo: Nullaeus" achievement.
