Gilded Ravasaur

Gilded Ravasaur is an uncommon ground mount for Horde characters, added to World of Warcraft in patch 7.3.5 (January 16, 2018) as part of the pre-launch campaign for the Battle for Azeroth expansion. It is a massive armored ravasaur covered in gilded plating and ornaments in the style of the Zandalari Empire. The flavor text describes it as "a mount fit for the high priests and advisors of the Zandalari, adorned with the finest decorations and blessed by Rezan, the great loa devilsaur."

The mount is summoned by the spell Gilded Ravasaur and was an exclusive gift for purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition or the boxed Collector's Edition of Battle for Azeroth. Once obtained, it is automatically added to the collection of all Horde characters on the account, and it also unlocks the great achievement Collector's Edition: Gilded Ravasaur.

• Rare collector's mount — since April 17, 2023, the Gilded Ravasaur has been unavailable in any form, and every new owner stands out noticeably among Horde players.
• Unique ravasaur model — distinct armor and gilding that no other raptors or ravasaurs in the game have. Inspired by the Zandalari troll races and the cult of the loa Rezan from Zuldazar.
• Great achievement — obtaining the mount unlocks Collector's Edition: Gilded Ravasaur, a separate "feat of strength" that does not count toward your total achievement points but marks your account as the owner of a collector's edition
• A counterpart to the Alliance allied mount — this mount has an Alliance equivalent, which makes the Gilded Ravasaur part of an official pair of collector's edition faction mounts
• Available account-wide — once obtained a single time, the mount is unlocked for all your Horde characters regardless of server or class
• Potential return through the Trading Post — according to Blizzard, mounts previously removed from sale may return in the Trading Post or as part of promotions, so the mount may once again appear in the game

In the current patch, The War Within (Season 2), the Gilded Ravasaur is not available for a new purchase. It was given strictly to buyers of certain versions of Battle for Azeroth and was later resold in a limited set of offers. Below are all known methods of obtaining it, each of which is now closed.

1. Purchasing the Digital or boxed Collector's Edition of Battle for Azeroth during the period from April 17, 2018 (start of pre-orders) to July 11, 2021 (removal from the store)
2. Purchasing the Battle for Azeroth Mount Bundle, which combined the Gilded Ravasaur and the Seabraid Stallion for $15 in the Battle.net store — sold from July 11, 2021 to April 17, 2023
3. A limited inclusion in the Faction Pack Bundle (April 2023) before its final removal from sale

If you own one of these bundles linked to an active account, you simply need to log into the game on a Horde character, open the mount collection panel, and unwrap the gift — the mount will be added to your collection automatically.

The mount's journey through the Blizzard store falls into three clear periods. If you are trying to understand why some players have it and others do not, pay attention to the dates.

After April 17, 2023, the mount can no longer be purchased in the Battle.net store or the in-game shop. The only way to obtain it today is to wait for a return through the Trading Post or a new seasonal promotion.

The mount's model and lore are closely tied to the Zandalari storyline in Battle for Azeroth. Ravasaurs are reptiles from Nazmir and Zuldazar, while the gilded ornaments themselves are a reference to the temple of Atal'Dazar and the cult of the loa Rezan, the guardian of the Zandalari kings. This is precisely why the flavor text mentions the "blessing of Rezan": the mount is styled as a ceremonial saurian that the high priests of the troll empire might have ridden.

• The Zandalari race became a playable allied people of the Horde in the Battle for Azeroth expansion
• Zandalari ravasaurs are closely tied to the cult of the loa, and individual types are tamed as Zandalari racial mounts
• The Gilded Ravasaur visually echoes the Zandalari racial mounts but has a unique set of armor and textures

If you purchased the Battle for Azeroth Collector's Edition or the corresponding bundle but do not see the mount in your collection, perform a step-by-step check.

1. Log in to a Horde character — the mount is not displayed on Alliance characters even with cross-faction collection sharing
2. Open the Collections (default key Shift + P) and go to the Mounts tab
3. Scroll to the Ground category — the mount is placed there
4. If the mount is missing, check the achievements page: the presence of Collector's Edition: Gilded Ravasaur confirms that it is bound to the account
5. If the achievement is missing, contact Blizzard support and provide the purchase date of the Battle for Azeroth Collector's Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, or Mount Bundle

Acquisition notes

• The mount is granted once upon first logging into the game after purchasing the corresponding edition
• The item appears as a gift box in the mount collection — click on it to unwrap it
• If a character uses the faction change service and becomes Alliance, the mount remains in the account collection and is available again upon returning to the Horde
• The mount automatically scales its speed to your current riding skill level

Since the Trading Post was introduced in patch 10.0.5, Blizzard has been gradually returning previously removed mounts, pets, and toys to the rotation. The Gilded Ravasaur is one of the candidates for a return, although the exact date has not yet been announced.

• Track the monthly Trading Post updates (new stock arrives on the first Tuesday of each month)
• Keep the weekly Trading Post tasks active — the monthly currency resets, so there is no point in saving it up
• For removed mounts and pets, Blizzard regularly runs special promotions through which it may bring back the Gilded Ravasaur
• Follow the official news — information about returns is published there first
