Overview

Gold-Plated Witchhunter's Carbine

Game iconGold-Plated Witchhunter's Carbine is a ranged firearm appearance crafted in an ornate witch hunter style. It is a long-barreled carbine with gilded fittings, fine engraving, and a carved wooden stock — a model from the same decorative weapon line as the other "gold-plated" appearances.

Formally the item is level 1 and tagged as "Cosmetic": it has no combat value. When used, it adds an illusion to your Warband's appearance collection, after which the carbine can be applied as a transmog to any gun.

The appearance was added to World of Warcraft in patch 10.2.0 as part of the Dragonflight expansion. It is Warband-bound, so once purchased the appearance becomes available to every character on your account.

Source

The Gold-Plated Witchhunter's Carbine was sold by Ms. Xiulan, an assistant to Madam Goya and a black market "gold sink" vendor.

  • Ms. Xiulan can be found in the black market hall beneath Valdrakken.
  • Coordinates of the black market entrance: /way 19.2 50.3 Ms. Xiulan.
  • The appearance cost 100,000 gold.
  • The purchase requires no reputation or achievements — only gold.

This gold-sink stock was available for a limited time (January–August 2024). After the sale ended, Ms. Xiulan's items moved into the Black Market Auction House rotation, so the appearance can now be caught there as a lot. Black market bids start at a fixed amount and rise as the auction goes on, so the final price is unpredictable and depends on demand on your realm.

If the appearance is not in the current stock, it is worth checking the Black Market Auction House periodically — lots are refreshed regularly.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It harmonizes with sets in a dark-gold and leather palette — looks for inquisitors and hunters of the undead.
  • It fits a Gothic and Baroque aesthetic with plenty of gilded details and engraving.
  • It looks great on hunters and rogues who favor an elegant, "gentlemanly" weapon silhouette.
  • It contrasts with rough orcish and mechanical armor — a debatable but expressive choice.

Tips

1

The appearance is Warband-bound, so it is enough to buy it on a single character — it unlocks for the entire account.

2

Save up gold in advance: both a direct purchase from Ms. Xiulan and a bid at the Black Market Auction House require a large sum.

3

Keep an eye on the Black Market Auction House beneath Valdrakken — lots refresh, and rare appearances return to sale.

4

On crowded realms the lot price at the black market rises more steeply: to save gold, consider less populated realms.

5

After purchase, use the item to add the illusion to your collection — without activation the appearance will not show up in your wardrobe.

6

The same appearance can be applied to any gun, so you will not need to swap the model for new loot.
