Great Blue Elekk

The Great Blue Elekk is an epic ground racial mount for Alliance Draenei, added to World of Warcraft with The Burning Crusade expansion (patch 2.0.1). Compared to the regular brown, gray and purple elekks, the "great" line is a more massive model with a rich caparison, pauldrons and battle armor on the neck. The blue variant is considered one of the most striking, and it is often chosen as a parade mount for Draenei characters in blue and silver sets.

The mount is sold by elekk breeder Torallius the Pack Handler near the pens north of the entrance to the Exodar. Draenei can buy it right after learning the riding skill, while the other Alliance races can only purchase it at Exalted standing with the Exodar faction. The elekk model is racial, but the collection unlocks account-wide.

• Epic racial mount model — the Great Blue Elekk is one of the trio of "great" epic elekks (Great Blue, Great Green and Great Purple). They visually differ from the regular ones: they have decorative armor, a caparison and massive tusks
• Collection addition — once purchased, the mount appears on all your Alliance characters on the account and counts toward achievements
• One visit — three mounts — Torallius sells six elekks at once. If you came for the blue one, it makes sense to grab the green and purple too, and the regular colors as well: Brown, Gray and Purple
• The only way — from Torallius — this mount has no alternative sources. It is not a drop, not an achievement reward and not a collectible shop item. Only the vendor in the Exodar

The main and only way is to buy the Great Blue Elekk from Torallius the Pack Handler in the Exodar. For a Draenei this takes a couple of minutes, while the other Alliance races first have to reach Exalted with the Exodar.

1. Get to the Exodar — the Draenei capital on Azuremyst Isle. The fastest way is the portal from the mage hall in Stormwind
2. Leave the Exodar's main entrance and turn left, toward the pens with the live elekks. Torallius the Pack Handler stands outside by the northern wall, next to his charges. In game he is labeled as "Elekk Breeder"
3. Make sure you have learned at least the Apprentice Riding skill. Epic elekks used to require rank 150, but since patch 9.0.1 the threshold was lowered — now the mount can be bought and used with any riding rank
4. If your character is not a Draenei, check your reputation with the Exodar faction. You need Exalted standing. Draenei buy without restrictions
5. Open the trade window and buy the Great Blue Elekk for 10 gold (base price, reduced with good Exodar reputation)
6. Use the item from your bag — it will teach you the summoning spell, and the mount will stay in your collection forever

The Exodar is built around the central Seat of the Naaru hall, from which sectors of vendors, trainers and professions branch out. Torallius stands not in the trade district but a bit farther — by the pens with the live elekks to the north, closer to the city's outer ring.

The fastest route to the Exodar for a character who has Stormwind unlocked:

1. Teleport to Stormwind
2. Go to the Mage Quarter and enter the mage hall
3. Use the portal to the Exodar
4. From the arrival platform, walk along the ring to the north — Torallius stands by the elekk pens among the live animals. If there are no elekks near the vendor, you've come to the wrong NPC

If there is no direct portal, you can reach the Exodar by water: from Stormwind harbor take the ship to Auberdine on Azuremyst Isle, and from there fly to the Exodar by gryphon.

If you are not playing a Draenei, Torallius will not sell you the mount without Exalted standing with the Exodar faction. The reputation builds up slowly but without any time restrictions — you can close it out in one or two evenings at max level.

Main ways to gain reputation:

• Exodar Tabard. Buy the Exodar Tabard from quartermaster Kadu right there, in the Exodar. Wear it and run classic Wrath of the Lich King dungeons — all the reputation from dungeon kills will count toward the Exodar. This is the fastest way to close the missing reputation levels
• Tournament daily quests — at the Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown, championing the Draenei, you receive daily quests that give a noticeable reputation boost with the Exodar.
• Draenei starting zone quests — Azuremyst Isle and the neighboring Bloodmyst Isle contain dozens of quests granting Exodar reputation. This is relevant if you have an alt going through the starting chain

If you ever farmed reputation on a Draenei alt or did quests in the starting zones, part of the progress may already be accumulated. Before heading out, open the reputation tab and check how much is left to Exalted — a couple of dungeons with the tabard may well be enough.

• Torallius stands outside — let's repeat it once more, because this is the most common mistake. The vendor is not inside the city, but by the elekk pens near the main entrance. If you are wandering the inner rings of the Exodar — you're looking in the wrong place. Go outside and turn left
• Check whether the mount was bought earlier — the Great Blue Elekk is available to everyone after the first purchase. If you ever bought it on a Draenei alt, it's already in the collection. Open the mount collection window and search for "elekk"
• Grab the whole line in one visit — as soon as you've reached Exalted, buy all six elekks at once. Coming back to Torallius a second time is a hassle, and the collection will gain +6 mounts at once
• Don't confuse Torallius with Kadu — Kadu is the Exodar quartermaster, sells the tabard and reputation rewards, but has no elekks. Mounts — only from Torallius
• A Draenei alt saves a lot of time — if you have a free character slot, create a Draenei and complete the intro quests on Azuremyst Isle. This quickly gives high Exodar reputation standing, and the Draenei itself buys the mount without any restrictions
• The mount is available to everyone after obtaining it — it's enough to buy it once on any Alliance character, and the Great Blue Elekk unlocks in the collection for all your heroes, including future ones
• The mount has no alternative sources — if you're not ready to farm Exalted, the only option is buying it on a Draenei character. There are no drops, events, achievements or collection shops with this mount in the game
