Malavita first discovered World of Warcraft in Draenor, but truly got into the game with the Shadowlands expansion. Has a soft spot for Demon Hunters and Mages. Considers her main goal to be collecting as many mounts as possible.

Great Red Dragon Turtle is an epic ground mount added in the Mists of Pandaria expansion (patch 5.0.4). The mount is a massive red dragon turtle with a luxurious harness and two lantern-lights mounted on its shell. It is one of the largest and most impressive ground mounts in the line of Pandaren dragon turtles.
The mount is sold for ordinary gold by two vendors in the capitals — Old Whitenose in Stormwind and Turtlemaster Odai in Orgrimmar. Any Pandaren character can buy it immediately, regardless of faction and reputation. Members of other races will need to be Exalted with the Tushui Pandaren (Alliance) or the Huojin Pandaren (Horde).
To purchase the mount, you need to meet several conditions:
Reputation with the Pandaren factions is earned through daily quests in the capitals, completing Pandaria story quests, and wearing the appropriate tabard in dungeons.
The mount is sold by two vendors — one in each of the main faction capitals. Note: the Alliance and the Horde only have access to their own vendor, however with the appropriate reputation their goods are identical.
Vendor: Old Whitenose. Located in the Pandaren camp by the Eastern Earthshrine, in the northern part of Stormwind, near the Mage Quarter and the Canals.
Vendor: Turtlemaster Odai. Located in the Pandaren camp in the center of the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar, near the pond and the training ground.
The Tushui and Huojin Pandaren are some of the easiest reputations in the game to farm at max level.
The main and recommended method. From your faction's agitator in the Pandaren camp you receive a tabard:
In any dungeon, from classic to modern, all reputation gained with the tabard goes to your chosen Pandaren faction. At max level 90 old dungeons can be cleared in a couple of minutes, so a few runs through the Dungeon Finder will close out the reputation in one or two evenings.
If you create a new Pandaren character, keep in mind: on the starting zone of the Wandering Isle you have not yet chosen a faction, but after picking a side you immediately gain access to all racial mounts without a reputation requirement. This is the fastest way for collectors to close out the collection.
Buy the whole set at once — the reputation grind is done once, and all twelve dragon turtles are available from the vendor. Save up for the whole set so you don't have to return to reputation farming again. Each "great" turtle costs the same, while the regular versions are cheaper.
Play a Pandaren to bypass the requirement — if you have a Pandaren character of any class, you can buy the mount without grinding reputation. This is the only race with such an exception.
Combine with other rewards — while grinding reputation with Tushui or Huojin you also gain access to tabards, pets and other collectible items. Check the full assortment at the quartermaster.
Don't confuse it with the "regular" red dragon turtle — there is a separate mount,
Reins of the Red Dragon Turtle, which is cheaper and looks like a smaller version. The "great" version is noticeably larger and has decorative lanterns.
Use dungeons with fast respawns — Cataclysm heroic dungeons are cleared almost instantly at max level and give a large amount of reputation per run.
The mount is bound on acquisition — you cannot buy it "as a gift" for another character, but after using the item the mount is available account-wide.
