Overview

Green Shado-Pan Riding Tiger

Game iconGreen Shado-Pan Riding Tiger is a ground mount from the Mists of Pandaria expansion (patch 5.0.4). It is a mighty Pandaren-breed tiger in the green ceremonial harness of the Shado-Pan order. The mount is sold for gold, but the right to purchase it only unlocks once your character reaches Exalted reputation with the Shado-Pan faction.

The tiger model is identical to the blue and red Shado-Pan variants — only the armor color differs. The mount is account-bound on learning, so once purchased it becomes available to every character on your account.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Unique Pandaren tiger model — a massive beast clad in heavy armor bearing the emblem of the Shado-Pan order, unlike the standard Pandaria tigers
  • Ground mount with maximum speed — grants +60% or +100% movement speed depending on the riding skill you have learned
  • Part of a three-color collection — alongside it you can buy the Game iconReins of the Blue Shado-Pan Riding Tiger and the Game iconReins of the Red Shado-Pan Riding Tiger from the same quartermaster
  • Unlocks an achievement and an extra quest — Exalted with the Shado-Pan also grants access to a quest chain rewarding the Game iconReins of the Onyx Cloud Serpent mount
  • Account-bound — once purchased, the mount becomes available to all characters on your account, including the opposite faction

How to Get the Mount

  1. Level your character to at least level 10 and learn the Apprentice Riding skill. This is a formal requirement — any character meets it nowadays
  2. Head to Pandaria and complete the story quests in the Valley of the Four Winds and the Jade Forest to unlock access to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms
  3. Raise your reputation with the Golden Lotus faction to at least Honored — this is a prerequisite for receiving the first quests from the Shado-Pan
  4. Take the introductory quest that sends you to the Shado-Pan Garrison in the southwest of the Townlong Steppes
  5. Complete daily quests at the garrison's three questgivers every day. Each quest grants +250 reputation, and a full cycle of five quests yields about 1,250 reputation per day
  6. At Revered, buy the Game iconGrand Commendation of the Shado-Pan for 50 gold. It increases reputation gains by 100% for all characters on your account
  7. Upon reaching Exalted, return to Rushi the Fox and buy the Game iconReins of the Green Shado-Pan Riding Tiger

Where to Find the Vendor

The Shado-Pan quartermaster Rushi the Fox stands by the central campfire in the Shado-Pan Garrison — the order's main base in the Townlong Steppes. Coordinates:

/way Townlong Steppes 48.8 70.6 Rushi the Fox — Shado-Pan quartermaster

The fastest way to reach the garrison is via the Shado-Pan Garrison flight point, which unlocks automatically on your first visit to the zone during the story quests.

How to Build Shado-Pan Reputation

Reputation is gained through daily quests at the Shado-Pan Garrison. The chain is standard: first you pick up four simple quests in one of the quest zones, then you complete a final quest with an elite enemy.

Main Sources of Reputation

  • Daily quests at the garrison — the main source. Around 1,250 reputation per day when completing the full chain
  • Shado-Pan challenge quests — extra quests from the commanders, +350 reputation each
  • Quests in the Shado-Pan Monastery — this Pandaria dungeon grants a noticeable reputation boost on the first run
  • Sha of Anger — the weekly world boss in the Valley of the Four Winds grants a quest with a reputation reward
  • Tabard — in Mists of Pandaria there is no separate dungeon tabard for the Shado-Pan, but once you reach Revered the Grand Commendation is active

Rough Time Estimate

At a standard pace (daily quests every day without the Grand Commendation), the path from Neutral to Exalted takes about 21–25 days. With the Game iconGrand Commendation of the Shado-Pan active, this time is roughly halved — to 11–13 days. For alts whose main character already has Exalted, leveling goes even faster thanks to the doubled reputation right from the start.

Farming Optimization

Order of Actions to Speed Things Up

  • With your first character, raise reputation to Revered and immediately buy the Game iconGrand Commendation of the Shado-Pan. After that, all your other characters will earn doubled reputation
  • Start your morning with Golden Lotus quests in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms while keeping pace with the Shado-Pan — these are useful parallel chains that unlock more content
  • Don't forget the quests in the Shado-Pan Monastery — the first dungeon run gives a tangible reputation boost and access to additional dailies

Solo Run

All Mists of Pandaria content can be cleared solo in the current expansion without any difficulty. The elite monsters from the final daily quests are killed solo in a few hits at level 90, and the Sha of Anger drops to a single ability combo. Class and specialization don't matter — any character with a mount can handle it.

Tips

1

Plan to buy all three tigers at once — after Exalted, all three colors are available from Rushi the Fox. In total, three tigers cost about 5,500 gold without reputation discounts

2

Check the available dailies every day — the zone rotation changes, and not all quests are offered at once. Sometimes it's worth flying around all three possible spots

3

Account for the reputation discount — at Exalted the base price of 1,500 gold drops to 1,275 gold, and with boosting factors it can go even lower

4

Use the mount as transit — the +100% speed makes it on par with most flying mounts for getting around where flight is disabled (for example, in scenarios and instances)
