Overview

Разящая алебарда

Halberd of Smiting is an epic two-handed polearm from the classic era of World of Warcraft. Its silhouette instantly reads as a heavy slashing melee weapon, so the model fits well into the brutal looks of warriors and death knights.

Important note: the appearance is only available to those who managed to acquire the halberd itself before it was removed. The item stopped dropping with the Cataclysm expansion (patch 4.0.3a), when the classic-era Zul'Gurub dungeon was reworked.

Source

The Halberd of Smiting dropped from the boss Bloodlord Mandokir in the Zul'Gurub dungeon — the ancient city of the Gurubashi tribe in Northern Stranglethorn.

  • Source — a drop from Bloodlord Mandokir, one of the bosses of Zul'Gurub.
  • The approximate drop chance was around 6% per kill.
  • The appearance is obsolete: the item stopped dropping in patch 4.0.3a when the dungeon was reworked, so it is impossible to obtain in the current version of the game.
  • If the halberd was obtained before its removal and is listed in your appearance collection, it remains available for transmogrification without restrictions.

Coordinates of the fight location in the dungeon (for historical reference):

/way Зул'Гуруб 60.4 79.9 Мандокир Повелитель Крови

Visual Appeal

  • It pairs well with plate sets in a cold gray-steel palette — looks for warriors and death knights without flashy effects.
  • It harmonizes with dark leather and mail armor in muted tones, where the weapon should look utilitarian rather than ceremonial.
  • It suits "grim" themed looks of mercenaries and guardians: the lack of glow and decoration makes the halberd a neutral foundation.
  • It contrasts with bright "holy" paladin sets — for such a look, it is better to choose a weapon with gold or radiant styling.

Tips

1

Check your appearance collection: if the halberd was collected during the classic era, the appearance is already unlocked account-wide and available to any character with polearm proficiency.

2

Polearms can be wielded by warriors, death knights, paladins, hunters, and monks — the appearance suits a melee fighter of any of these specializations.

3

If the item is not in your collection, do not waste time on the modern Zul'Gurub: the current version of the zone does not contain this loot.

4

For an everyday look, combine the halberd with single-color plate armor — the calm color of the blade will not steal attention.

5

Remember the slot rule: a two-handed weapon appearance can only be applied to another two-handed weapon of the matching type.

6

The gray-steel palette makes the halberd a convenient "base" — it does not clash with most armor sets and looks great in screenshots without bright lighting.
