March on Quel’Danas

This is the first‑season raid for the Midnight expansion. It becomes available to players on April 1, 2026, in LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic modes.

The raid features battles against two bosses and their minions.

The raid entrance is located on Quel’Danas Island.

The boss encounter is divided into several phases.

Below, we detail each of the boss’s abilities.

We describe abilities from the Mythic version of the raid. If an ability is absent or differs in other difficulties, we will note that.

The core mechanic involves splitting all raid members into Light and Void categories. Each player is randomly assigned one of these colors and receives a special blessing:

  • Light: 50% reduced damage from Light magic;
  • Void: 50% reduced damage from Shadow magic.

Subsequent boss mechanics depend on player colors. Failing to execute your color’s mechanic or attempting the wrong one results in massive damage.

Boss Abilities: Phase 1

  • Belo’ren’s Embers
The boss summons two phoenixes. Upon landing, they create two zones: Darkness and Void. Players marked with corresponding colors must enter these zones to share the damage. After damage is shared, two phoenixes remain at the landing sites. When killed, these phoenixes are placed into eggs that cast Resurrection. If the eggs aren’t destroyed before the cast completes, the phoenixes resurrect and must be killed again until the eggs are eliminated.

While the phoenixes are alive, they deal heavy damage to the entire raid. Only players marked with the correct color can interrupt their spells.

  • Saturated Needles (Heroic difficulty and higher)
The boss selects two random targets and fires two needles: one Light and one Void. A needle deals lethal damage to a player whose color doesn’t match the needle’s color. Therefore, players of matching colors must stand in the needle’s path.

The needle damages the first person it hits. Position yourselves so that the player intercepting the needle can take the damage unobstructed.

  • Radiant Echoes
Orbs of Light and Void move along the platform from both sides toward the center. If a player of the wrong color touches an orb, they die instantly. To create a safe passage, a player of the matching color must touch the orb. This opens a path, allowing others to avoid orb damage.

  • Warden’s Decree
This mechanic is exclusive to tanks. The boss strikes forward with a color‑specific attack. The tank of the matching color must enter the zone, while the other tank must exit. There are three strikes total: one with Light, one with Void, and one with both simultaneously. For the third strike, both tanks must be under the boss.
If colors don’t match or the correct‑color tank is missing during the strike, the boss gains a massive 30‑second damage buff, likely resulting in a raid wipe.

  • Eternal Burns
All raid members are afflicted with Light or Shadow burns. These burns absorb large amounts of healing until fully cured.

Only healers of the matching color can cure these burns. Pay close attention to the player’s color when attempting to heal!

Boss Abilities: Phase 2

When the boss reaches 0 health, they fly into the sky, then land in the arena’s center and transform into an egg.

Players must deal as much damage as possible to this egg within 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, Belo’ren resurrects from the egg with full health, re‑colors players as Light or Void, and Phase 1 begins again.

After the second phase, you may be re‑colored. Your previous color might remain or change. Always verify your color after the boss resurrects, as all Phase 1 mechanics apply again.

Each resurrection applies a 10% reduced incoming healing debuff to the entire raid. This effect stacks and only clears upon the boss’s death.

  • Flame Genesis
While the egg is active, the entire platform cycles between Light and Shadow colors every 5 seconds.
Players must move to matching‑color sectors. Standing in a mismatched sector results in death.

Triumph of Midnight

At the time of writing this guide, this boss has not yet been added to the game. We will cover them in this article on the Midnight expansion’s release day or the raid’s launch day, if the boss isn’t added earlier.
