Get Hatestrike

Hatestrike is an epic one-handed sword from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. It is a short blade with an angular guard and a dark metallic edge in the palette so typical of Naxxramas: a cold steely sheen with greenish, plague-tinted highlights. The model belongs to the inv_sword_61 blade family and captures the grim aesthetic of the undead perfectly.

The sword suits any class and specialization that wields one-handed swords: warriors, paladins, demon hunters, rogues, and warlocks. The slot is main hand or off hand. Statistically the item is long outdated, so these days it is acquired purely for its appearance.

This is one of the most accessible "Naxx" swords for collectors: the raid can be soloed in a few minutes, and the blade itself drops from two bosses at once, which noticeably raises your chance of getting it in a single run.

Hatestrike drops in the Naxxramas raid - a flying necropolis of the Scourge, located above Dragonblight in Northrend. The sword drops in the Construct Quarter from two bosses at once.

• Patchwerk - a massive stitched golem, the first boss of the Construct Quarter. Wing entrance coordinates: /way Naxxramas 54.1 41.6.
• Gluth - a plague-ridden abomination hound, the second boss of the same wing. Coordinates: /way Naxxramas 46.2 43.8.

Farming notes:

• The drop chance from each boss is small, roughly around 10-15 %, but two sources in one wing effectively double your odds per run.
• The item is identical on both raid sizes (10 and 25 players); the model does not change.
• There is no limit on attempts - Naxxramas can be cleared every week until you get the blade you want.
• The item becomes soulbound on pickup, so you cannot transfer it to another character - you have to farm it on the hero who actually needs it.

• It fits undead and Scourge looks: dark metal with greenish highlights echoes the plate sets of death knights.
• It harmonizes with cold gray-green palettes - for example, armor in the style of Icecrown Citadel and Naxxramas.
• It looks striking when paired with bright "holy" paladin sets, creating the image of a fallen defender.
• It works well with a matching blade from the same family - Torment of the Banished or Slayer of the Lifeless - for a symmetrical dual-wield look.
