Heart of the Aspects

Heart of the Aspects is an epic ground and flying mount added on February 14, 2012, in the Cataclysm expansion (patch 4.3). It is a radiant dragon born from the luminous energy of the Dragon Soul artifact, symbolizing the united power of all the Dragon Aspects. The mount is purchased from the in-game Battle.net Shop for $25 USD (25 EUR).

In patch 10.1.5, the mount received a substantial update: the model was ported to the Winding Slitherdrake skeleton with new running and standing animations on the ground. Before this update, the mount always used flying animations, even while on the ground.

• Guaranteed acquisition — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, Heart of the Aspects is purchased with real money from the in-game shop. One payment, and the mount is in your collection forever
• Unique model — a golden, radiant Eastern-style dragon with a serpentine body and wings. As the mount moves, a trail of sparks and lightning follows behind it, while electrical discharges shimmer above the dragon's head
• Updated animations — after patch 10.1.5, the mount uses the Winding Slitherdrake skeleton with full running, standing, and flying animations. The model has become significantly more detailed and fluid

Heart of the Aspects is purchased with real money through the in-game shop or the Battle.net website. The purchase process takes just a few minutes.

Method 1: In-Game Shop

1. Log into the game on any character
2. Open the in-game shop — click the button with the shop icon at the bottom of the screen or enter the command bound to the shop key
3. Go to the "Mounts" section
4. Find Heart of the Aspects in the list of mounts
5. Click "Buy" and confirm the payment ($25 USD / 25 EUR)
6. After the transaction is complete, the mount will automatically appear in your mount journal on all characters

Method 2: Battle.net Website

1. Go to the Battle.net Shop page
2. Log into your Battle.net account
3. Select the Heart of the Aspects mount and click "Buy"
4. Complete the payment with your chosen method (credit card, PayPal, Battle.net balance)
5. The next time you log into the game, the mount will appear in your mount journal

Method 3: Gift to a Friend

The mount can be purchased as a gift for another player. On the purchase page, select the "Gift" option and enter the recipient's BattleTag or email.

Heart of the Aspects is thematically tied to the Dragon Soul raid — the final raid of the Cataclysm expansion. In this raid, the heroes of Azeroth helped the Dragon Aspects use the Dragon Soul artifact against Deathwing. The united power of Alexstrasza, Ysera, Nozdormu, Kalecgos, and the heroes themselves made it possible to defeat the Destroyer of Worlds.

The mount symbolizes this united power — it was born from the energies of the Dragon Soul, which absorbed the essences of all the Aspects. A quote from Alexstrasza is associated with the mount: "You are the true guardians of Azeroth, and the future of this world lies in your hands, for the age of mortals has come."

The mount's release on February 14, 2012 — on Valentine's Day — was no accident. Blizzard timed the release to the holiday, playing on the word Heart in the name.

Alongside the Heart of the Aspects mount, a thematically related battle pet is available in the shop — Soul of the Aspects. It is a miniature version of the dragon with a matching golden, radiant design. The pet is sold separately and creates a harmonious visual set with the mount.

Heart of the Aspects is one of the most eye-catching mounts in the game thanks to a number of visual effects:

• Radiant trail — as the mount moves, streaks of golden light and lightning from the wings trail behind it
• Electrical sparks — electrical discharges constantly shimmer above the dragon's head
• Backflip — the /mountspecial command makes the dragon perform a backward loop
• Swimming — before all flying mounts gained the ability to swim, Heart of the Aspects was the only dragon mount capable of swimming underwater. In water, the dragon tucks its wings against its body
• Ground animation — after the patch 10.1.5 update, the mount gained full running and standing animations on the ground, instead of constantly hovering in the air
