Heartlight Vombata
Overview

Heartlight Vombata is a massive stone creature laced with golden veins, resembling an awakened slab of rock.
You can buy the stone that activates the vombata from Vilo — the quartermaster of The Enlightened faction in Zereth Mortis. The price is 5000 Reservoir Anima, and to unlock the purchase you must reach Exalted with The Enlightened. Once you learn the stone, the mount becomes available to all eligible characters on your account.
Why you want this mount
- Unique vombata model — there are only four reputation and protosynthesis vombatas in the game. The Heartlight variant stands out with its golden-grey coloring and glowing veins, fitting the aesthetic of the First Ones
- Steady speed — the mount gains +60% or +100% movement speed depending on your riding skill, meaning it travels at the maximum ground-transport speed
- Account-wide access — once obtained, the mount unlocks for every character on the account regardless of faction and class
- A companion for the reputation collection — buying the stone closes out an important reward from The Enlightened faction and motivates you to push reputation to Exalted, also unlocking titles, gear, and recipes
- Relevant at level 90 — all Shadowlands content scales, and the solo quests of Zereth Mortis clear easily in the current version. You can collect the mount without a group's help
How to obtain
The main path to the mount is to reach Exalted with The Enlightened and buy the
Heartlight Stone from Vilo for Reservoir Anima.
- Unlock the Zereth Mortis zone by completing the "The Primus Calls" starter chain (characters arriving in Shadowlands for the first time can use a streamlined route through Oribos)
- Complete the "The End of Eternity" campaign until weekly quests are activated — it gives a meaningful reputation boost
- Daily, do the three Enlightened world quests (125 reputation each) and collect Reservoir Anima from chests and rare enemies
- Gradually stockpile at least 5000 Reservoir Anima — the currency drops from chests, rare enemies, and weekly caches
- Once you reach Exalted with The Enlightened, head to Vilo and buy the
Heartlight Stone - Use the item —
Heartlight Vombata will appear in the mount collection of all your characters
Requirements and preparation
To farm the Heartlight Stone comfortably, prepare in advance — this cuts travel time and the number of repeat runs.
- Unlock Zereth Mortis — your character must have completed the first three chapters of the "Chains of Domination" story and picked up the "The Primus Calls" quest. Alts who have never played Shadowlands can use an accelerated route: after a short intro in Oribos, they head straight to Zereth Mortis
- Unlock flying — the "Firstborn Skies" achievement unlocks a flying mount in Zereth Mortis and speeds up travel between world quests and rare enemies many times over
- Learn the needed Cyphers of the First Ones — the "Metrial Understanding" cypher adds a fourth world quest to Zereth Mortis, accelerating reputation gain
- Save a stack of treasures for the first run — they can be marked via the map zone, but collecting takes time; start with the largest chests near world quests
Optimizing reputation farming
Acquiring the
Heartlight Stone comes down to reputation gain speed, not anima. 5000 anima is gathered in 10–14 days of active play, while reaching Exalted takes noticeably longer.
Daily cycle
- Turn in all three to four Enlightened world quests — that's 375–500 reputation per day
- Kill rare enemies on the way to world quests: regular ones give 10 reputation, special ones 15, and each also drops 100–250 Reservoir Anima
- Pick up every chest near your route — they have no daily limit, so you can open as many as you want
Weekly boost
- Patterns Within Patterns — a mandatory weekly quest that gives about 1250 reputation and extra rewards
- The weekly world boss Antros drops +200 reputation
- The expansion's story campaign gradually grants from 550 to 1425 reputation per week until it is completed
Parallel anima farming
Anima is gathered alongside reputation, but if you are already Exalted and still collecting the currency, set aside 30–40 minutes to clear the rare-enemy group in the Endless Sands Dunes — they spawn in packs there and drop 250 anima per kill. In an hour of such a route you easily gather 2000–3000 anima. In total, 5000 anima and Exalted are achievable in 35–60 days with daily play of 20–40 minutes.
Tips
Start preparing early — even if you are not going straight for the mount, do the world quests and the weekly quest while leveling other Shadowlands collections. Reputation builds up in the background
Use alts only after reaching Exalted on your main — reputation is personal, but buying the
Heartlight Stone unlocks the mount account-wide. There is no point duplicating the grind
Don't skip cyphers — the "Metrial Understanding" talent in the Cyphers of the First Ones adds a fourth world quest and noticeably speeds up the path to Exalted
Close out related achievements — while you farm reputation, complete "Zereth Mortis: Path of the Devoted" and similar achievements. They give extra rewards and accelerate collecting
Don't rush to spend anima — if you are not yet Exalted, hold your anima so that on the day you hit the required rank you can immediately buy the stone and summon the
Heartlight Vombata
