Get Horrid Dredwing mount
Overview

Horrid Dredwing is an epic flying dredwing-type mount added in patch 9.0.1 of the Shadowlands expansion. It is a sinister bat from Revendreth that belonged to Harika the Horrid — a rare enemy who terrorized the inhabitants of the Banewood. The mount can be obtained in two ways: as a rare drop from Harika the Horrid or purchased from the Venthyr covenant vendor.
The Horrid Dredwing is a massive bronze vampire bat with powerful wings and a predatory silhouette. The mount works as both a ground and flying mount, requiring a minimum character level of 10 and the riding skill.
Why You Want This Mount
- Two ways to obtain it — the mount can be farmed from a rare enemy or guaranteed by purchasing it from a vendor for anima and offerings. If your drop luck is poor, the purchase option is always available.
- Unique model — the dredwing stands out among Shadowlands mounts with its bronze coloring and impressive size. The vampire bat model appears only in Revendreth.
- Ground and flying — the mount works both on the ground and in the air, adapting to your riding skill.
- Available to all characters — once learned, the mount appears in the collection of every character on your account. To use it on characters outside the Venthyr covenant, you need to reach 80 renown with the Venthyr.
- Achievement — killing Harika the Horrid counts toward the "Revendreth Explorer" achievement.
How to Obtain
There are two ways to obtain the Horrid Dredwing. Both require membership in the Venthyr covenant.
Method 1: Drop from Harika the Horrid
- Join the Venthyr covenant by completing the introductory Shadowlands quest chain
- Build the Anima Conductor in your Sinfall sanctum
- Channel the flow of anima to Darkhaven Hill in Revendreth
- Head to the Banewood — a forested zone southwest of Darkhaven Hill
- Find the Dredbat Ballista projectile in the fortress ruins west of Harika's area (approximate coordinates: 42.7, 73.4)
- Deliver the projectile to Wingsmash — an NPC located at the ballista (coordinates: 46.3, 77.8)
- Talk to Wingsmash and choose the "Let's smash!" option — he will fire the ballista and knock Harika down
- Kill Harika the Horrid (165,000 HP, level 61, elite mob — easily killed solo at max level)
- Loot the kill — the mount drop chance is approximately 1–2%
Method 2: Purchase from a Vendor
- Join the Venthyr covenant
- Head to Sinfall — the base of the Venthyr covenant in Revendreth
- Find Chachi the Artiste — the Venthyr renown quartermaster (coordinates: 54.0, 25.6)
- Purchase the Horrid Dredwing for 5,000 Reservoir Anima and 100 Grateful Offerings
- Use the item to learn the mount
How to Summon Harika the Horrid
Harika the Horrid does not stand in one place like a regular mob — she flies above the cliffs of the Banewood and is immune to normal attacks. To knock her down, you must complete a special procedure.
Preparing the Anima Conductor
- Make sure the Anima Conductor is built in your Sinfall sanctum
- Open the Anima Conductor interface and channel the flow to Darkhaven Hill
- The channeling lasts one day — you must redirect it again each day
Getting the Projectile
- Head to the Banewood — a forested zone south of the Darkhaven flight point
- Find the Dredbat Ballista projectile in the fortress ruins on the hill west of Harika's patrol area
- Projectile coordinates: roughly /way 42.7 73.4 and /way 43.2 80.1 — check several points if the projectile is not in place
Activating the Ballista
- Deliver the projectile to Wingsmash at the ballista: /way 46.3 77.8
- Hand over the projectile through dialogue
- Talk to Wingsmash again and choose "Let's smash!"
- Wingsmash will fire the ballista and knock Harika to the ground
- Attack Harika — she is now vulnerable
Combat Mechanics
- Vampiric Absorption — Harika drains the health of nearby enemies, healing herself. Interrupt the ability or quickly finish off the boss
- Knockback — a powerful attack can throw your character off the cliff. Try to stand with your back to a wall or flat surface
- Wingsmash's help — after the summon, Wingsmash assists in the fight, acting as a partial tank
Farming the Mount via Drop
Daily Routine
Harika can be killed once a day on each Venthyr character. The optimal plan:
- Log in and channel the Anima Conductor to Darkhaven Hill
- Teleport to Revendreth (use a hearthstone or the portal in Oribos)
- Fly to the Darkhaven flight point
- Pick up the projectile, deliver it to Wingsmash, and activate the ballista
- Kill Harika and check the loot
- Repeat on other Venthyr characters if you have any
How Long It Will Take
With a drop chance of about 1–2%, you will need 50–100 kills on average. If you farm on a single character daily, that is 2–3 months. With several Venthyr characters, the timeframe shortens proportionally.
Known Bug
Sometimes Wingsmash stops responding to projectiles or falls off the map. If this happens, change the server shard (join a group from another server through the group finder) and try again.
Buying from the Vendor — the Guaranteed Method
If farming the drop seems too long, the mount can be purchased from Chachi the Artiste. To do this, you will need to accumulate two currencies.
Reservoir Anima (5,000 units)
Reservoir Anima accumulates in your covenant's reservoir. Main sources:
- World quests in the Shadowlands (35–175 anima per quest)
- The weekly "Replenish the Reservoir" quest — rewards 1,000 anima
- The Calfath in Korthia — weekly quests for a large amount of anima
- Dungeons and raids — anima can be obtained from chests and by completing content
Grateful Offerings (100 units)
Grateful Offerings are a rarer currency:
- Complete soul quests that reward offerings
- Rescue souls in the Maw — the weekly quest rewards offerings
- World quests sometimes offer offerings as a bonus reward
- Accumulating 100 offerings takes several weeks of active play
Using It on Other Covenants
The Horrid Dredwing is initially available only to Venthyr covenant characters. However, after reaching 80 renown with the Venthyr, the mount unlocks for all characters on your account, including characters of other covenants.
In the current version of the game (The War Within), the Shadowlands covenants are no longer a mandatory choice for high-level content. You can join the Venthyr covenant specifically to obtain the mount without affecting your progress in current content.

Tips
Choose your method in advance — if you actively play a Venthyr character and hoard anima, buying from Chachi the Artiste may be faster than daily farming with a 1–2% chance. But if you have several Venthyr characters, the drop may come before you accumulate 100 offerings.
Channel the conductor every day — if you farm the drop, don't forget to redirect the Anima Conductor to Darkhaven Hill daily. Without an active flow of anima, Harika will not appear.
At max level the fight is trivial — at level 80 (The War Within), Harika is killed in a few seconds. The whole process from teleport to loot takes 2–3 minutes.
Use the group finder for bugs — if Wingsmash isn't working, open the group finder, find a group on another server, and join. After changing the shard, Wingsmash usually functions normally.
Check both currencies — before buying from the vendor, make sure you have enough of both Reservoir Anima and Grateful Offerings. Offerings are the rarer resource, and they are most often the bottleneck.
The mount is account-bound — it doesn't matter which character you get the mount on. Once learned, it appears in the collection of all your characters.
