WoW Forever Beast Mastery Hunter — Spec Changes
Spec Overview
Damage through the pet. Beast Mastery in Forever moves most of its decisions onto pet uptime, hawk timing and mana upkeep. Aspect talents support both ranged and melee play, and the strongest ability in the tree still works through your main pet.
This is the tree for players who are ready to watch their beast: a living pet now directly increases your own damage rather than only adding its own.
Class Changes
Hawks Share a Cooldown with Arcane Shot
Summon Hawk calls in an extra attacker for 18 seconds. No more than two can be out at once, and its cooldown — six seconds — is shared with
Arcane Shot.
The choice between them depends on the target. A durable enemy gives the hawk time to work through all 18 seconds, while against a nearly finished target it is better to simply shoot: the hawk will not land the bulk of its damage.
Unleashed Fury and
Ferocity extend directly to both pets and hawks.
Frenzy and
Bestial Wrath, however, only mention the pet in their tooltips, so their bonuses cannot be carried over to hawks.
Improved Arcane Shot specifically excludes abilities that share a cooldown with
Arcane Shot, and it does not reduce the cooldown of Summon Hawk itself.
The Living Pet Is Your Damage
Focus Fire increases all of the damage you deal while the pet is active. That means a dead beast costs you more than just the loss of its attacks.
Hence the value of the maintenance talents:
Endurance Training adds health and armor to the pet,
Improved Mend Pet makes
Mend Pet cheaper and gives each heal a chance to remove a harmful effect, and
Improved Revive Pet makes bringing it back less painful. In dungeons and while leveling these are not secondary investments, especially when the pet has to run through a dangerous zone.
Bestial Swiftness helps you recover damage faster after switching targets.
Intimidation still requires the pet's next successful attack: you have to send the beast in ahead of time so the stun lands on cue, not after the enemy has already reached your healer. The empowered attack grants an increased crit chance and a lot of threat — useful in solo play, but it calls for care next to a tank.
Aspects, Mana and Buff Windows
Aspect of the Beast in Classic only hid you from tracking. In Forever its first rank additionally grants 50 melee attack power.
Deadly Aspects adds a melee attack-speed proc from auto-attacks to this aspect — alongside the ranged attack-speed boost under
Aspect of the Hawk. The aspect is chosen to fit your fighting style rather than picked out of habit.
Improved Aspect of the Monkey also shares part of the dodge bonus with the pet.
Bestial Discipline improves the pet's focus regeneration and lets part of your mana regeneration continue while you are casting.
Bestial Wrath kept its Classic 50% to pet damage for 18 seconds on a two-minute cooldown — it is worth using when the beast can attack for the full duration.

Talent Overview
The Beast Mastery tree holds 44 points out of a 51-point budget. It is taken in full, and the seven leftover points go into the first tier of Marksmanship:
Eagle Eye for three points adds range,
Improved Concussive Shot for four strengthens the slow.
This is not a finished leveling build. It is only an example distribution of abilities for reference.
Talents
Weapon Choice
The tree is built around ranged combat, so the priority is a ranged weapon: a bow, crossbow or gun with high damage and the right stats.
Ranged Weapon Specialization from the Marksmanship tree is not taken in this build, so the bonus comes only from the item itself and from attack power.
A melee weapon plays a supporting role for the Beast Mastery Hunter — it is first and foremost a stat stick. The exception appears if you play through
Aspect of the Beast: its first rank grants 50 melee attack power, and Deadly Aspects adds a melee attack-speed proc from auto-attacks. For that style the melee weapon already matters.
Among stats the priority is agility — it gives both attack power and crit. Hit rating is doubly valuable in Forever: the same bonus helps both your shots and your traps. Intellect works as a mana pool, and
Bestial Discipline lets part of your regeneration continue while casting.
