Get Trust of a Loyal Wolfhawk mount
Overview

Trust of a Loyal Wolfhawk is an epic flying mount added in patch 7.2.0 of the Legion expansion. It is the hunter class mount, available only to characters of the Hunter class. The Huntmaster's Loyal Wolfhawk is a majestic hybrid of wolf and hawk — a unique creature created by the spirit of the Great Hunter in the Emerald Dream of the Eternal Hunt.
The mount is the reward for completing the quest Night of the Wilds, which concludes the hunter's class quest chain on the Broken Shore. When summoned, the character lets out a battle cry while the wolfhawk appears with a drawn-out howl — a blend of wolf and hawk behavior.
Why You Want This Mount
- Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is awarded for completing the quest chain, with no element of chance. Simply finish all the quests and the wolfhawk is yours.
- Unique model — the wolfhawk combines the traits of a wolf and a bird of prey. It is one of the most unusual mount models in the game and is found only among hunters.
- Three color variants — in addition to the base red-brown model, two more variants are available: blue (Huntmaster's Fierce Wolfhawk) and green (Huntmaster's Savage Wolfhawk).
- Ground and flying — the mount works both on the ground and in the air. In flight the wolfhawk spreads its powerful wings, and on the ground it moves on four legs.
- Available to all hunters on the account — once obtained, the mount becomes available to all hunter characters on your account.
- Class exclusivity — only hunters can use this mount, making it a recognizable symbol of the class.
How to Obtain
To obtain the mount you must complete the hunter's class quest chain in the Legion expansion. The main stages are:
- Create or take a Hunter-class character and bring it to at least level 45 (scaled through the Chromie system)
- Complete the hunter class hall campaign — Trueshot Lodge. This is required to earn the achievement "A Glorious Campaign"
- Complete the achievement Breaching the Tomb — the Armies of Legionfall campaign quest chain on the Broken Shore. As of patch 9.1.5, the achievement only needs to be completed once on any character on the account
- After finishing the prerequisites, head to the Deliverance Point on the Broken Shore to pick up the starting quest
- Return to Trueshot Lodge and find the Golden Letter on the table next to the Scouting Map
- Speak with Odyn's Herald in front of the entrance to Trueshot Lodge to begin the Night of the Wilds scenario
- Complete the scenario and receive the
Trust of a Loyal Wolfhawk
Night of the Wilds Scenario
The scenario transports you to the Halls of the Eternal Hunt — the same location where you fought Fenryr in the Halls of Valor dungeon, but in its otherworldly version. Odyn sends you on a great hunt to prove your valor.
Stage 1: The Hunt Begins
You must track down and defeat four great beasts: Garhal, Hirtir, Ketlfinr, and Habrok. Be sure to enable beast tracking on the minimap — without it you will not see the prey's tracks in the darkness of the Hunting Grounds. Use the hunter's abilities to track them and gradually locate each beast.
Stage 2: Freeing the Souls
Free the souls of the wolf Fereki and the hawk Vethnir. These two guardian spirits are held captive, and you must fight their captors to free both.
Stage 3: The Spirit of the Wolfhawk
The freed souls of the wolf and the hawk merge into one, and before you appears the spirit of the wolfhawk — a mighty hybrid of the two creatures. Fight it and prove that you are worthy of its loyalty.
Stage 4: A Feast with Odyn
Return to Odyn after your victory. The great warrior-god acknowledges your valor and holds a feast in your honor. After the celebration concludes you will receive the item "Trust of a Loyal Wolfhawk" and can learn the mount.
Prerequisites in Detail
The Class Hall Campaign
The hunter class hall campaign takes place at Trueshot Lodge — a hunter's lodge atop a mountain in Highmountain. The chain includes quests to unite the great hunters of Azeroth, gather legendary weapons, and stand against the Legion. At max level (80 in The War Within) all the quests are completed quickly.
The "Breaching the Tomb" Achievement
This achievement requires completing the Armies of Legionfall campaign on the Broken Shore. Key stages:
- Arrival on the Broken Shore — the quests "Armies of Legionfall" and "Assault on Broken Shore" (the scenario can be skipped)
- Building a base at Deliverance Point
- Completing a series of campaign quests on the Broken Shore
- Finishing all stages until the achievement is earned
As of patch 9.1.5, "Breaching the Tomb" became account-wide — if you have already completed it on another character, the hunter does not need to do it again.
Current Requirements (The War Within)
- Minimum character level: 10 (to start the Legion quests)
- Recommended level: 45+ (via the Chromie Time timeline — Legion)
- Riding: Apprentice Riding (for ground travel), Expert Riding (for flight)
- Class: Hunter (any specialization)
Alternate Color Variants
After obtaining the base mount, you can purchase two additional color variants from Pan Goodhand for class hall resources:
| Variant | Item | Color | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | Trust of a Loyal Wolfhawk | Red-brown | "Night of the Wilds" quest |
| Fierce | Trust of a Fierce Wolfhawk | Blue | 1,000 class hall resources |
| Savage | Trust of a Savage Wolfhawk | Green | 1,000 class hall resources |
All three variants use the same wolfhawk model, differing only in the color scheme of the plumage and fur.
Optimizing the Acquisition
At Max Level
At level 80 (The War Within) all Legion content mobs are killed in a single hit, and the scenarios are completed in mere minutes. Most of the time goes toward traveling between quest points and watching cutscenes.
Approximate Time to Obtain
- If "Breaching the Tomb" is already completed on another character: 1–2 hours for the class hall campaign + scenario
- If you need to do everything from scratch: 3–5 hours for the class hall campaign + the Legionfall campaign + scenario
- The "Night of the Wilds" scenario takes roughly 10–15 minutes
Quick Access to the Broken Shore
- Use a Hearthstone set to Dalaran (Broken Isles).
- Or open a portal to Dalaran through your faction's capital.
- From Dalaran, fly south to the Broken Shore.
- Deliverance Point is located on the southwestern coast of the Broken Shore.
Tips
Enable beast tracking — in the "Night of the Wilds" scenario, be sure to activate Track Beasts on the minimap. Without this setting you will not see the prey's tracks and will be unable to find the beasts in the darkness of the Halls of the Eternal Hunt.
Don't skip the class hall campaign — even if the "Breaching the Tomb" achievement is already completed on the account, each hunter must complete their own class hall campaign. There is no way around it.
Use the Chromie system — if your hunter is below level 50, enable the Legion timeline through Chromie in Orgrimmar or Stormwind. This scales the content to your level.
Gather class hall resources in advance — to purchase the alternate color variants you will need 2,000 class hall resources (1,000 for each). Resources are gathered from world quests, chests, and command table missions.
All specializations work — the "Night of the Wilds" scenario can be completed by a hunter of any specialization: Beast Mastery, Marksmanship, or Survival. Choose whichever you find most comfortable.
Check your mail before starting — if you have been switching between characters and doing quests on the Broken Shore, make sure you didn't miss a quest letter or item in your mailbox.
A mount for hunters — remember that this mount is available only to characters of the Hunter class. Other classes will not be able to use it, but each class has its own unique Legion mount.
