Overview

Inferno Armoredon

Game iconInferno Armoredon is a ground mount added to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight in patch 10.1.0 "Embers of Neltharion." It is a massive armored saurian covered in obsidian plates, with glowing cracks across its armor and tongues of flame bursting from its maw and along its spine. Visually, the mount is a fiery variant of the armoredon family that dwells in the Zaralek Cavern. The item's flavor text reads: "Its tail smells of campfire, and its breath reeks of brimstone."

The mount served as a seasonal reward in Dragonflight Season Two and was granted for the Dragonflight Keystone Master: Season Two achievement. The achievement belongs to the Feats of Strength category and can no longer be completed: after patch 10.2.0 "Guardians of the Dream" launched and Season Three began, the Inferno Armoredon became unavailable.

Why You Want This Mount

  • Exclusive Feat of Strength status — the season is closed, and the mount remains only with players who managed to earn a 2000 Mythic+ rating in Season Two. It visually sets a collector apart from those who arrived later
  • A unique armoredon model — this is the first mount of the Armoredon family released in Dragonflight. Later came the Game iconVerdant Armoredon (Season 3) and the Game iconInfinite Armoredon (Season 4), but it was the inferno variant that opened this line
  • Ground travel speed — +60% or +100% depending on your riding skill, matching the top speed of ground mounts
  • Account-wide access — once obtained, the Inferno Armoredon unlocks for every character on your account, regardless of faction and class
  • A memento of Dragonflight Season Two — a seasonal tie to the dungeon pool and the storyline of the Zaralek Cavern, the Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible raid and the "Embers of Neltharion" minor patch

Important: The Mount Is No Longer Awarded

Game iconInferno Armoredon is a limited Dragonflight Season Two reward. You cannot obtain it the normal way in the current version of the game: the Dragonflight Keystone Master: Season Two achievement was moved to the Feats of Strength category and stopped together with the season reset on November 14, 2023.

If the mount isn't in your collection, the only realistic option is a possible return of the reward through future seasonal rotations. Blizzard periodically brings back retro mounts through the "keystone era" system and seasonal rewards, but there is no official announcement about the return of the Inferno Armoredon. All the material below is kept for reference — it describes how the mount was obtained while it was current.

How to Obtain (Historical Path)

During Dragonflight Season Two, you only had to reach a 2000 Mythic+ rating once on any character on the account.

  1. Level a character to 70 and acquire sufficient gear (usually 440+ item level at the start of the season)
  2. Take a key into a Mythic dungeon — the first key was earned by clearing any dungeon at Mythic 0
  3. Run Season Two keys in time, accumulating rating. Each key gives points for both variants — Tyrannical (empowered boss) and Fortified (empowered trash mobs)
  4. For a 2000 rating it was enough on average to time a +15 in each dungeon in one of the affix versions, or to offset a low key with a higher one in another dungeon
  5. Upon reaching 2000 points, the Dragonflight Keystone Master: Season Two achievement triggered automatically, and the mount arrived by mail on the current character

Dragonflight Season Two Mythic+ Pool

To understand how the rating was earned, here is the full list of the eight dungeons that were in the Season Two rotation.

Dungeon Location Origin
Neltharus Waking Shores Dragonflight
Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr Badlands Dragonflight
The Vortex Pinnacle Skywall (Uldum) Cataclysm
Halls of Infusion Azure Span Dragonflight
Brackenhide Hollow Ohn'ahran Plains Dragonflight
Neltharion's Lair Highmountain Legion
Freehold Tiragarde Sound Battle for Azeroth
The Underrot Nazmir Battle for Azeroth

What to Do If You Don't Have the Mount

Since the achievement is closed, there are no direct ways to get the mount right now. Here is what you can do in the current patch to prepare in case the reward returns.

  1. Keep an eye on seasonal reward rotation news. Blizzard has repeatedly brought back old seasonal mounts through the Mythic+ rotation system in later patches
  2. Develop your Mythic+ skill in the current The War Within season — if the mount returns, the acquisition mechanic will most likely stay the same (a 2000 rating in the return season)
  3. Assemble a core team and test your keys on both Fortified and Tyrannical variants to understand what key level you need for 2000 points with your group
  4. Check your account — the achievement may have been completed on an alt, and the mail with the mount left unread. In that case the mount can be claimed right now by contacting Blizzard support
  5. Pay attention to the other armoredons that are still in the game or return regularly through rotation: Verdant Armoredon, Infinite Armoredon. A matching set from one line visually complements the Inferno

Tips

1

Check your own achievements — open the achievement window (the Y key) → Feats of StrengthDungeons & Raids. If the Dragonflight Keystone Master: Season Two entry is completed but the mount isn't in your collection, submit a support ticket

2

Watch for retro rotations — in previous expansions Blizzard brought back some seasonal mounts through special rotation seasons. This is the most realistic scenario for getting it again

3

Don't confuse mounts of the same family — the Infinite Armoredon and the Verdant Armoredon are similar in model but differ in color and source. Only the inferno coloring is tied to Dragonflight Season Two

4

Save proof of progress — screenshots of the rating tables and the reward mail. In case of technical errors with crediting the achievement, this will speed up the review by support

5

Study the rating mechanic — the Mythic+ rating for the season is formed as the sum of your best run of each dungeon in both affix variants. Understanding the system will come in handy for repeating the result if the mount returns

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
