Get Reins of the Insatiable Shredclaw mount

Reins of the Insatiable Shredclaw is a ground mount added in the Midnight expansion (patch 12.0.0). This Void predator stands out among the four shredclaw variants thanks to its distinctive yellow coloring and aggressive stance. The mount can be obtained for free, without farming and without relying on luck — all you need is to reach the Final Clutch of Predaxas treasure in the Voidstorm zone and complete a simple puzzle with electric eggs.

The mount is account-bound and available to all your characters once learned.

• Guaranteed acquisition — the mount doesn't depend on a drop chance. You claim it from the treasure on your first try.
• Fast — it takes no more than five minutes from entering the cave to having the mount in your collection.
• Unique model — shredclaws only appeared in Midnight. The Insatiable Shredclaw is the only one of the four variants obtained through a treasure rather than reputation or PvP.
• Achievement — looting the treasure counts toward the Treasures of Voidstorm achievement, which, together with other zone achievements, is part of a meta-achievement.

• Character level: 88+ (to access the Voidstorm zone).
• Completing the Midnight campaign: Voidstorm is the final zone of the expansion. To get there, you need to finish the story chapters in the Eversong Woods (levels 80–83), and then complete three parallel campaign branches (levels 83–88): Arator's Journey, Zul'Aman, and Harandar. Once they are completed, access to Voidstorm opens up.
• Riding skill: Apprentice Riding (basic skill).

No additional quest chains, reputation, or keys are required to obtain the mount. The treasure is available immediately after entering the zone.

The Path to Predaxas's Lair

The treasure is located in a cave called Predaxas's Lair in the southern part of Voidstorm.

1. Head to the safe zone of Howling Ridge — this is the main hub in Voidstorm.
2. From Howling Ridge, travel south. Your destination is Predaxas's Lair.

4. Enter the cave and proceed deeper. The treasure is located in the far part of the cave, beyond the puzzle room.

Deep in the cave you'll find a room filled with electric eggs. This is the only obstacle between you and the mount.

Puzzle Mechanics

• Upon entering the room, you receive the Disruptive Ozone debuff. It completely blocks the use of spells and abilities — only basic movement and jumping remain.
• The room contains seven eggs, each of which creates an electric discharge on the ground. The discharges follow a set rhythm: all seven eggs strike the ground over 5 seconds, after which the cycle repeats.
• If you step on an electric circle, you'll be stunned and teleported back to the start of the room. You'll have to begin your progress over.

Step-by-Step Strategy

1. Take your time. There's no timer in the puzzle. Stop at the entrance and observe the order in which the eggs create discharges. Memorize the sequence — it repeats every 5 seconds.
2. Move along the right side of the room — there's usually more open space between the discharges there.
3. Advance from egg to egg, waiting for the safe moment after each strike.
4. Alternative method: if the puzzle gives you trouble, jump onto the already-hatched eggs (empty shells). Standing on them, you won't be caught by the electric circles on the floor. Use the shells as safe spots to catch your breath between dashes forward.

The puzzle works the same way for all classes and specializations — no one has an advantage, since abilities are blocked by the debuff.

Once you reach the end of the room, you'll see the Final Clutch of Predaxas object. Open it — inside are the Reins of the Insatiable Shredclaw. Use the item, and the mount will immediately appear in your collection.

In addition to the mount, opening the treasure grants you 50 reputation points with the Singularity faction.

• One attempt — one mount. The treasure can only be opened once per account. After obtaining it, the mount is available to all characters.
• Can be obtained immediately upon arriving in the zone. No reputation progress or quest completion in Voidstorm is required — only physical access to the zone.
• Predaxas is a world boss dwelling nearby in Voidstorm. Its lair and egg clutch are part of the zone's environment, but you don't need to kill the boss to obtain the mount.
• All four shredclaws differ in color (yellow, orange, red, and blue) but use the same base model. If you collect mounts, take note of the other variants as well — they are obtained through reputation and PvP.
