Ironside Warwolf

Ironside Warwolf is an epic ground mount added in the Warlords of Draenor expansion with patch 6.0.2. It is a massive war wolf clad in heavy steel armor: the front legs and tail are adorned with spiked rings, the head and neck are protected by metal plates, the eyes blaze with crimson fire, and imposing fangs jut from its maw. A leather saddle with a bag for scrolls and potions is fastened to its back.

The mount is sold by Rezak — the quartermaster of the Laughing Skull Orcs — in the Trading Post of your garrison at Frostwall. To purchase it, you must reach Exalted reputation and pay 5000 gold plus 5000 Apexis Crystals. The mount is available only to Horde characters.

• Guaranteed acquisition — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, the Ironside Warwolf is purchased from a vendor. Once you reach Exalted and accumulate the currency, the mount is yours
• Maximum speed — the mount uses standard mounted movement speed, so its effectiveness depends solely on your riding skill (up to 100% on the ground)
• Brutal appearance — heavy steel armor, spikes, crimson eyes, and an open maw make this wolf one of the most aggressive steeds in Draenor. It is a perfect fit for Horde characters who prefer a warlike aesthetic
• Reputation reward — purchasing the mount automatically completes the Laughing Skull Orcs achievement, unlocking the title "the Jester"

To purchase the mount you must meet several conditions: unlock access to the Laughing Skull Orcs faction, reach Exalted reputation, and accumulate 5000 gold and 5000 Apexis Crystals.

1. Complete the introductory Warlords of Draenor campaign on the Horde and build a garrison at Frostwall. The first garrison level is granted through the story
2. Upgrade the garrison to level two — this requires completing the story chain and obtaining the level 2 blueprint
3. Build the Trading Post on one of the small garrison plots. The blueprint is purchased at the Garrison Headquarters for 150 gold
4. Upgrade the Trading Post to level 2. The level 2 blueprint is granted for free after reaching garrison level 3 and purchasing 150 units of any trade resources through the post
5. After the post is upgraded, quartermasters of three Draenor factions will appear in it, including Rezak
6. Raise your reputation with the Laughing Skull Orcs to Exalted (42,000 points in total from Neutral)
7. Accumulate 5000 gold and 5000 Apexis Crystals
8. Purchase the Ironside Warwolf from Rezak and use the item to learn the mount

The Trading Post is located on one of the small construction plots of the garrison at Frostwall. The exact location depends on where you erected the building.

Route to the garrison

1. Open the map of Azeroth and select Frostfire Ridge in Draenor
2. Use the Garrison Hearthstone, granted through the story — it teleports you directly to the entrance of Frostwall
3. If the stone is not set, use the portal to Draenor from Orgrimmar or fly to Frostfire Ridge via a flight master
4. Enter the garrison and find the built Trading Post on the map — it is marked with a scales icon

Entering the Trading Post

Step inside the building. In the level 2 post, three quartermasters stand simultaneously — those of the Laughing Skull Orcs, the Wrynn's Vanguard, and the Sha'tari Defense. Rezak is an orc of large build; he usually stands near the counter alongside the other quartermasters.

Checking the inventory

Open the trade window with Rezak. If you do not have enough reputation, the mount will be displayed in the list, but the purchase will be locked. Hover over the item to see the required reputation level and the cost.

The Laughing Skull Orcs are an unusual faction: they have no quests, emissary tasks, or weekly missions. Reputation is earned exclusively by killing mobs in certain zones of Gorgrond.

Main farming spots

Reputation drops from killing level 100 mobs in two locations:

• The Pit — the northwestern part of Gorgrond, west of the Blackrock Foundry. Ogres and ogron live here, granting small portions of reputation per kill
• The Everbloom Wilds — the eastern part of Gorgrond, adjacent to the Everbloom dungeon. Ancient nature elementals and corrupting mobs dwell here

How to speed up farming

• Kill as many mobs in a row as possible — use classes with mass abilities such as the Demon Hunter, Demonology Warlock, Mage, or Druid. This significantly increases the amount of reputation per hour
• Use the Standard of Unity — the guild banner grants +10% to reputation gained for 15 minutes
• Darkmoon Faire carousel — the WHEE! buff lasts 60 minutes and increases reputation gained by 10%. Visit the faire before starting to farm
• Champion's insignia — the Insignia of the Laughing Skull Orcs can be obtained from garrison command table missions

Treasure chests

Scattered all over Gorgrond are Laughing Skull chests, which grant a small one-time reputation bonus. Especially useful are the quests Treasure: Laughing Skull Cache I and similar ones, granted for discovering caches.

How long farming takes

With active mob farming using mass abilities and accelerating bonuses, reaching Exalted takes approximately 15–25 hours of pure playtime. At the maximum level of Midnight (90), all Draenor mobs are destroyed in a single hit, which significantly speeds up the process.

Apexis Crystals are a Draenor currency introduced with patch 6.2. 5000 crystals is a substantial sum, but at maximum level it can be amassed in a few hours.

Main sources

• Daily quests in the Timekeeper zone — repeatable quests are available in Tanaan Jungle and the patch 6.2 zones, each rewarding approximately 800 crystals
• Draenor world bosses — killing weekly bosses rewards crystals in large amounts
• Garrison missions — send followers on missions that reward Apexis Crystals. At maximum level the missions complete instantly
• Treasure chests — many chests all over Draenor reward crystals. Use a treasure map to find them all
• Draenor dungeons and raids — bosses drop small amounts of crystals on the first kill of the week

Storage cap

Note: the stockpile of Apexis Crystals is capped at 100,000. If you are approaching the limit, spend the currency right away, otherwise further rewards will be wasted.
