Overview

Ветвь с железного дерева

Game iconIronwood Treebranch is a two-handed mace dating back to the very first days of World of Warcraft. It is a simple yet recognizable weapon: a heavy, gnarled trunk of dark wood with a crude grip, looking more like a giant club than a piece of smithing. The model perfectly captures the image of a primitive weapon wielded by savages and ogres, which is why it is prized by collectors of "wooden" and "barbarian" sets.

The item has Uncommon quality and an item level of 11, and requires character level 10. Its stats (6–8 damage, +5 Strength, +1 Stamina) are meaningless today — the weapon is taken purely for its appearance in transmogrification.

Source

The Ironwood Treebranch drops from regular mobs in Duskwood, an Alliance starting zone for levels 10–30.

  • The drop source is the Splinter Fist Ogre, a regular level 20 humanoid.
  • Ogres of this clan densely populate the Vul'Gol Ogre Mound in southern Duskwood, near the fork of the main road leading to Stranglethorn Vale. Use the coordinates around /way 36 76 as a landmark.
  • The drop chance is low — roughly 0.11%, so be ready for a lengthy farm or several runs.
  • The ogres spawn in groups and respawn quickly, letting you farm them in a loop without downtime.
  • It is not bound on pickup: the item can be bought or sold at the auction house until you equip it.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It blends well with "savage" and leather sets in earthy, brown tones.
  • It looks great on druids, shamans, and hunters playing the role of children of nature.
  • It fits the concept of a barbarian or hermit character who uses makeshift weapons instead of forged ones.
  • It contrasts with heavy plate sets — a debatable but memorable choice for a brutal look.

Tips

1

The optimal farming class is any character that can quickly wipe out groups of mobs: the ogres are weak, and clearing speed is what matters.

2

Bring a character above level 20 so you can kill the ogres in a couple of hits and avoid wasting time on resistance.

3

Farm the entire mound in a loop: while you clear the far camps, the nearby ogres respawn.

4

The low drop chance is offset by the sheer number of targets — in an hour of dense farming you will slay hundreds of ogres.

5

Check the auction house before farming: sometimes it is cheaper to buy the mace than to spend hours on the drop.

6

The item is not bound until equipped, so you can farm it on any character and pass it to the one you need via the auction house or in-account mail.

7

When collecting the appearance, do not equip the item right away — first add it to your transmogrification collection, and you can resell the spare copy.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
