Overview

Jade-Infused Blade

Game iconJade-Infused Blade is a rare-quality one-handed sword added in Mists of Pandaria. It is a short jian with a wide greenish blade and a carved hilt in an Eastern style: the blade looks as if it were cut from a single piece of translucent jade, and its edge glows with a soft emerald light. The silhouette is compact and ceremonial — the weapon looks more like a pandaren ritual artifact than a battle sword.

Beyond its appearance, the blade carries the Game icon"Jade Infused Blade" effect: melee attacks have a 2% chance to trap the enemy in a jade snare and stun them for 3 seconds. The effect only works on creatures level 49 and below and does not affect other players, so in practice it is a curious detail rather than a combat advantage. The item level is 15 and the required level is 32, so the blade's value today is purely cosmetic.

Source

The blade is one of the hidden treasures of Pandaria, not a mob drop. It rests in The Jade Forest, in the hands of a jade warrior statue that stands in a decorative garden next to the hut of the jade witch.

  • The find spot is at roughly coordinates 39.2, 46.6 in the eastern part of The Jade Forest.

  • The treasure is picked up directly from the ground, no combat required — you simply fly or walk up to the statue and take the item.
  • The item is bind on account and can be taken once per character. To get it on another character, you need to return to the statue again.
  • Picking up any of Pandaria's lost treasures for the first time grants the "Lost and Found" achievement. After that comes a chain of achievements for collecting all the treasures, and its finale awards the title "Relic Hunter."

The treasure is present in the world permanently and is not tied to a season or event, so you can grab the blade at any time.

Who It Suits Visually

  • Harmonizes with green-jade outfits of pandaren and monk themes thanks to its distinctive emerald blade.
  • Suits Eastern-style looks — light leather or cloth armor with a golden-green palette.
  • Contrasts with dark plate armor, creating a bright accent on the weapon while keeping the character's silhouette calm.
  • Looks great on pandaren characters as a thematically native weapon.

Tips

1

The treasure is available from any level — you can reach The Jade Forest through the portal to Pandaria from your faction's capital.

2

On a flying mount the trip to the statue takes mere seconds, which is convenient for farming the appearance on several characters.

3

If you are also collecting the Pandaria treasures achievement chain, combine the visit for this blade with a route through the rest of The Jade Forest's spots.

4

You can check whether the blade has already been picked up on the current character through the quest log — the treasure will not reappear until a new character takes it.

5

Since the item is bind on account, it cannot be bought on the auction house or handed to another player — the appearance can only be obtained personally.

6

The low required level makes the blade a convenient early appearance option for fresh characters of the appropriate classes.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
