Reins of the Kor'kron Annihilator
Overview

Reins of the Kor'kron Annihilator is a Horde ground mount added in patch 4.0.3 of the Cataclysm expansion. It is an armored battle scorpion of the Kor'kron Guard, clad in heavy plating and adorned with Horde insignia. The mount is purchased from a guild vendor for 1,500 gold once you reach the Exalted reputation level with your guild.
While riding, your character carries a banner bearing your guild's crest, making this scorpion one of the few mounts that display guild affiliation. The Alliance equivalent is the
Reins of the Golden King. Learning either of the two mounts automatically grants you the other as well.
Why You Want This Mount
- Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is bought from a vendor, with no randomness involved. Reach the required reputation and the mount is yours
- Unique scorpion model — the Kor'kron Annihilator uses an armored scorpion model that appears on only a handful of mounts in the game
- Guild banner — while riding, your character carries a standard bearing your guild's crest. It's a great way to show off your allegiance to your community
- Two mounts in one — by purchasing the Horde version, you automatically receive the Alliance version as well (the Golden King). The mount is available on all characters on your account
- Low cost — just 1,500 gold, which by the standards of collectible mounts is practically free
How to Obtain
To buy the mount you must meet two requirements: reach the Exalted reputation level with your guild and have 1,500 gold.
- Join any Horde guild if you aren't already in one. You can find a guild through the built-in Guild Finder (the J key) or via advertisements in the in-game chat.
- Buy and equip the
Illustrious Guild Tabard, available at the Friendly reputation level with your guild. It increases the guild reputation you earn by 50%. - Upon reaching the Honored level, purchase the
Renowned Guild Tabard, which grants a 100% bonus to guild reputation. - Complete quests, run dungeons and raids as part of a guild group — all of these earn guild reputation points.
- Once you reach the Exalted level, head to a guild vendor and buy the
Reins of the Kor'kron Annihilator.
Where to Find the Guild Vendor
Horde guild vendors are located in the faction's capitals. The most convenient option is to reach Goram in Orgrimmar — he stands by the walls of Grommash Hold in the Valley of Strength.
Goram — Orgrimmar
Goram is located near the Trade District vendors, by the outer wall of Grommash Hold. The easiest way to get there is through a portal to Orgrimmar from any capital.
Other Horde Guild Vendors
| Vendor | City |
|---|---|
| Goram | Orgrimmar, Valley of Strength |
| Kim Horn | Undercity (relocated to the gates of Orgrimmar after the Battle for Lordaeron) |
| Larissia | Silvermoon City |
| Randa Songhorn | Thunder Bluff |
All vendors sell the same set of goods, so choose whichever is easiest for you to reach.
Building Guild Reputation
Guild reputation accumulates as you perform any activity as part of a guild. The weekly cap on reputation gains was removed back in update 5.0.4 (Mists of Pandaria), so you can rack up points without limit.
Main Sources of Reputation
- Quests — every completed quest that grants experience also earns guild reputation. This is the main and fastest method of leveling up.
- Dungeons and raids — killing bosses as part of a guild group (at least 3 out of 5 members must be from your guild) earns reputation
- PvP — wins in arenas and battlegrounds with a guild group.
- Daily quests — a steady source of small portions of reputation.
Guild Tabards
Tabards are the main accelerator of reputation gains:
| Tabard | Requirement | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Friendly | +50% to guild reputation | |
| Honored | +100% to guild reputation |
Be sure to buy a tabard as soon as it becomes available. The bonus applies to all sources of guild reputation.
Optimal Leveling Method
The fastest path to Exalted:
- Join a guild and immediately equip the first-tier guild tabard.
- Complete quests in any zone — every quest that rewards experience grants guild reputation.
- Upon reaching Honored, swap the tabard for the upgraded version (+100%).
- Run dungeons through the random queue — if guildmates happen to be in the group, killing bosses will also earn reputation.
- At max level (80 in The War Within), complete world quests and weekly quests.
With active play and the +100% bonus tabard, reaching Exalted takes roughly 1-2 weeks. If you play only occasionally, expect 3-4 weeks.
Tips
1
Equip the tabard right away — many players forget about the guild tabard and lose a significant portion of reputation. Buy it at the first opportunity and don't take it off until Exalted.
2
Quests are the best source — if you have unfinished zones with quests, work through them. Even outdated quests grant guild reputation.
3
You don't have to be in a group — earning reputation from quests doesn't require being in a guild group. Simply being a member of the guild is enough.
4
The mount is account-wide — buy it on the character who reaches Exalted first. After it's learned, the mount appears on all your characters, including Alliance characters (they'll receive the Golden King).
5
Switching guilds lowers reputation — when you join a new guild, your reputation level drops by one tier. If you were Exalted, you'll become Honored. Keep this in mind if you plan to change guilds.
6
Check the achievement — buying the mount is tied to the Guild Level 25 achievement. Make sure your character has reached the required level before heading to the vendor.
