Krick's Beetle Stabber — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Krick's Beetle Stabber is a one-handed dagger that drops in the Pit of Saron dungeon from the encounter against Ick and Krick. The dungeon belongs to the Wrath of the Lich King expansion and is located in Icecrown, within the Frozen Halls wing complex.
Visually it is a short blade with a serrated silhouette and a dark hilt — a model in steel tones with no glow or effects. A modest, utilitarian look: it does not draw attention on its own, but it fits well into builds where the weapon should not steal the focus. The dagger's name and theme reference the goblin Krick — a captive of the Scourge cult who sics his golem Ick onto the group.
This copy of the item is a scalable version: its item level adjusts to the character. The dagger's appearance is identical to the version from regular content —
Krick's Beetle Stabber. For your appearance collection it is enough to obtain either of them: they grant the same transmog appearance.
Source
The dagger is obtained as a drop from the Pit of Saron dungeon. It is the middle link of the three Frozen Halls: the first wing is The Forge of Souls, the second is the Pit of Saron, and the third is the Halls of Reflection.
- The source is the fight against Ick and Krick, the second encounter in the dungeon. Krick cannot be attacked directly: the entire health bar belongs to his golem Ick, while Krick himself periodically chases random players.
- The dagger drops on both Normal and Heroic dungeon difficulty. The drop chance is low — around one percent per run — so farming usually takes several repeats.
- The loot binds to the character on pickup, so you should collect the appearance on the character you want to unlock the look for.
- Killing the bosses also grants the Ick and Krick (Pit of Saron) achievement.
How to reach the dungeon:
- The entrance is located in the south of Icecrown, by the southern wall of Icecrown Citadel. The Pit of Saron door is the third in the row of Frozen Halls entrances.
- At max level you can enter directly through the portal at the entrance — a separate access chain is no longer required for this.
- The dungeon is fully soloable: both the trash and both required bosses can be killed solo in a minute or two. A single run including travel usually takes five to seven minutes.
Alternatives
This dagger has no color variants — the appearance exists in a single coloration shared by the scalable and the regular version of the item. Similar short blades with a comparable silhouette can be collected in the same dungeon.

If you specifically need this transmog appearance, head for the fight against Ick and Krick — the other two daggers grant their own separate looks and do not substitute for one another.
Who It Suits Visually
- Matches plate and mail sets in steel and silvery tones — the neutral metal of the blade does not clash with cold armor.
- Looks good in "working", non-combat rogue outfits — where the weapon should appear modest and everyday rather than like an artifact.
- Pairs with dark leather armor: the dagger's dark hilt echoes the brown and charcoal shades of light sets.
- Fits a dual-wield setup with another simple blade — thanks to the restrained model, two such daggers do not overload the character's silhouette.
- Contrasts with bright glowing sets: against flashy armor the dagger gets lost, so for striking looks it is better to pick a more expressive weapon.
Tips
The optimal farming method is repeated solo runs of the dungeon at max level: enter through the portal, take the quick path to the fight against Ick and Krick, exit and reset the dungeon.
Keep the dungeon reset limit in mind: you can do a limited number of runs per hour, after which the game temporarily blocks entry.
For faster farming, classes with good mobility and steady self-healing are convenient — they reach the bosses faster and waste no time recovering.
The appearance unlocks from the very first dagger that drops — as soon as the item lands in your bag, the transmog appearance is added to your collection, and afterwards the item can be sold or destroyed.
If you also need the Surgeon's Needle appearance, run the dungeon in full: Forgemaster Garfrost stands first on the way, and it is convenient to kill him in passing anyway.
The dungeon occasionally drops the "Battered Hilt" — an item that starts a quest chain for a powerful weapon; while farming transmog, keep an eye out for it as well.
The dagger binds to the character, so farm it on whoever needs the look — you will not be able to send the loot to another character.
