Lava Spine — Transmog Set Guide

Lava Spine is an epic one-handed sword from the Cataclysm expansion. It is a slim, serrated blade in the style of Nefarian's draconic lairs: a dark edge veined with molten magma and a spiked guard. The model is rendered in a fiery crimson palette and perfectly captures the "volcanic" aesthetic of the black dragon Nefarian's domain.

The sword has long been irrelevant in terms of stats, so today it is farmed purely for its appearance. One-handed swords are wielded by warriors, paladins, rogues, demon hunters, and a number of other melee classes, so this look will come in handy for a wide range of characters.

Lava Spine drops from the boss Magmaw in the Blackwing Descent raid. He is the first boss of the raid, which makes farming the sword especially convenient — there's no need to travel far.
