Lavaborn Ruby's Edge — Transmog Set Guide

Overview

Магматическое рубиновое лезвие

Game iconLavaborn Ruby's Edge is a one-handed cosmetic axe with a searing, fiery model: the broad blade looks as if it was cast from cooling lava, while ruby-red cracks of smoldering heat run along its edge. Visually the weapon resembles the blades of the elemental hounds, hence its "lava" aesthetic.

The item belongs to the fire-themed Trading Post collection inspired by the An'she theme, and entered the rotation in June. It is pure transmog: the axe grants no stats and is needed only for its appearance, which is added to your appearance collection after purchase.

The flavor text plays on the weapon's fiery nature: "Perfect for those times when you need to chop down and burn a forest at the same time."

Source

Lavaborn Ruby's Edge is purchased at the Trading Post for Trader's Tender; it does not drop from bosses and cannot be crafted.

  • The price is 200 Trader's Tender.
  • The Trading Post is located at the collectors in the capitals: Dornogal, Orgrimmar and Stormwind. Any of them will do.
  • Trader's Tender is earned from monthly tasks on the Trading Post reward track — complete activities from the monthly list until the track fills up.
  • The purchase is bound to your character, but the appearance unlocks account-wide afterwards.
  • The axe is only available when it is in the current monthly Trading Post rotation. If it is not for sale right now, set it aside through the "Chest of Curiosities" during a month when it is available, or wait for it to return to the rotation.

Alternatives

This axe model has a direct recolor in cool tones, and the fire collection itself includes paired daggers of the same style. All variants are sold at the Trading Post.

The Coldflame Chopper uses the same model as the Lavaborn Ruby's Edge but in a blue-icy palette — handy if the ruby tint doesn't fit your set.

Visual Pairings

  • Fire and shaman looks built around lava and flame — the red cracks on the blade echo fire effects.
  • Plate sets with a searing theme, such as the Game iconEnsemble: Lavaborn Battleplate from the same Trading Post collection.
  • Dark silhouettes in a black-and-red palette, where the axe works as a bright accent against muted armor.
  • Paired "axe plus dagger" builds: the Lavaborn Barb from this same collection provides a style-matched second blade.

Tips

1

Before heading to the collector, make sure the axe is in the current Trading Post rotation — the reward list changes once a month.

2

If there is a lot you want with your tender this month, use the "Chest of Curiosities": a set-aside item can be bought later without losing access to it.

3

The appearance unlocks account-wide, so there is no need to buy it on multiple characters.

4

The Coldflame Chopper and Lavaborn Ruby's Edge are two colors of the same model, so it makes sense to collect both appearances for different sets.

5

Filling the reward track is easiest at the start of the month: the sooner you complete the tasks, the better your chance of making it before the rotation changes.

6

The axe is cosmetic and not suited for combat — it is needed solely to transmogrify an existing one-handed axe.
