Leywoven Flying Carpet

Leywoven Flying Carpet is an epic flying mount added in patch 7.2 of the Legion expansion. It is an elegant carpet woven from magical threads and infused with the energy of Suramar's leylines. The mount drops with a small chance from the Nightfallen's caches — the paragon chest of the Nightfallen faction.

The Leywoven Flying Carpet was the first flying carpet in the game that does not require the Tailoring profession to use. All previous flying carpets were available exclusively to tailors.

• First carpet for all classes — unlike the other flying carpets, the Leywoven Flying Carpet does not require the Tailoring skill. Any character can use it
• Unique design — the carpet features a purple-and-gold color scheme with runes characteristic of Suramar's nightborne. It looks distinctly different from standard tailoring carpets
• Ground and flying — the mount works both on the ground and in the air. Speed depends on your riding skill: up to +310% while flying
• Available to all characters — once obtained, the mount becomes available on every character on your account
• Collection value — one of the seven paragon mounts from the Legion expansion, needed to complete your mount collection

The main way to obtain it is the paragon chest of the Nightfallen faction. The mount's drop chance is approximately 3–10% (Blizzard does not disclose the exact value; players estimate the most likely range is around 3%).

1. Reach Exalted reputation with the Nightfallen faction in Suramar
2. After reaching Exalted, keep earning reputation points. For every 10,000 points beyond Exalted, you receive a paragon chest — the Nightfallen's Cache]
3. The chest is awarded by First Arcanist Thalyssra in Meredil (Suramar)
4. Open the chest — with a small chance the Leywoven Flying Carpet will be inside
5. Use the item to learn the mount

The process repeats: every 10,000 reputation points beyond Exalted grant a new chest with another chance at the mount.

Black Market Auction House

The Leywoven Flying Carpet periodically appears at the Black Market Auction House. This lets you buy the mount with gold, bypassing the reputation grind. The starting price is usually a few thousand gold, but the final bid can reach hundreds of thousands or even the gold cap, depending on the competition on your server.

WoW Remix: Legion

During the WoW Remix: Legion event, the mount was sold by the vendor Hemet Ernestway XVII for 20,000 Bronze. Hemet was located on the Remix island south of Dalaran. If a similar event returns in the future, it will be a guaranteed way to obtain it with no element of chance.

To get your first paragon chest, you need to earn 42,000 reputation points to reach Exalted, and then another 10,000 points on top — 52,000 points from scratch in total.

Suramar Story Campaign (main source)

The Suramar storyline is a large quest chain that unlocks at level 45 (via the Chromie system). It grants a significant amount of reputation and opens access to world quests.

1. Pick up the starter quest in Dalaran (Broken Isles) that leads to Suramar
2. Complete the main campaign, including liberating Shal'Aran and opening the portals around the city
3. Finish all chapters up to "Insurrection" — this grants several thousand reputation points

World Quests

World quests in Suramar are the main repeatable source of reputation. Each quest grants from 75 to 250 points. Quests refresh every few hours.

Emissary Quests

When the Nightfallen emissary quest is active, complete four of the faction's world quests to earn a bonus of 1,500 reputation points.

Suramar Dungeons

Reputation with the Nightfallen is granted for completing two dungeons:

• Court of Stars — killing bosses grants reputation points
• The Arcway — likewise, reputation from bosses

Additional Sources

• Insignia of the Nightfallen — drop from Order Hall mission table missions, granting 250 points (regular) or 750 points (large)
• Training the Withered — a weekly activity in Shal'Aran that grants reputation based on the points earned
• Rare enemies — some rare mobs in Suramar grant a small amount of reputation

Reputation Boosters

• Darkmoon Faire — the "WHEE!" buff from the carousel (+10% reputation for 60 minutes)
• World Quest Bonus Event — +50% to reputation earned from world quests
• Banner of Cooperation — a guild bonus of +10% reputation

Daily Plan

At max level (90 in Midnight) Suramar content is cleared instantly. The optimal order of actions:

1. Check whether the Nightfallen emissary is active — if so, prioritize that faction's world quests
2. Complete all available Nightfallen world quests in Suramar
3. Kill the available rare enemies
4. Run Court of Stars or The Arcway for additional reputation
5. Send Order Hall mission table missions for insignia

How Long It Will Take

With active grinding, reaching Exalted takes approximately 2–4 weeks. After that, each paragon chest requires 10,000 additional reputation points. Given a drop chance of around 3%, you may need anywhere from 1 to 30 or more chests. Players report getting the mount both from the very first chest and after 60 or more attempts.

Farming on Multiple Characters

Paragon chests are available separately on each character. If you grind reputation to Exalted on several characters, you can open chests in parallel, increasing the number of attempts per week.
