Overview

Loyal Gorger

The Game iconLoyal Gorger is an uncommon ground mount from the Shadowlands expansion (patch 9.0.2). It is a tamed gorger pup — a unique race of creatures from the Maw that feed on anima. The mount moves on massive paws covered in crimson-purple chitinous armor.

The acquisition method is unusual: the mount does not drop from a boss directly. First you need to summon the rare elite Worldedge Gorger and loot a quest item from it, then tame the little gorger and complete a seven-day chain of daily quests, gradually raising it into an adult.

Why you want this mount

  • Rare gorger model — there are few mounts of this race in the collection, and the Loyal Gorger shares its model with only a couple of Shadowlands "relatives" that are much harder to obtain today
  • A story reward, not a lottery — unlike most Shadowlands mounts, this one is guaranteed at the end of the chain. You are certain to get it a week after starting the quests
  • Solo content at max level — the entire activity is completed alone at level 80 without difficulty. The Worldedge Gorger drops in seconds in The War Within
  • +60% / +100% speed — the mount travels at the maximum ground mount speed at any riding skill level
  • Account-wide — once obtained, the mount appears in the collection of every character on the account, regardless of faction or class
  • Thematic tie to the zone — if you are collecting the Revendreth mount set, the Loyal Gorger is a perfect addition

How to obtain

The path to the mount consists of three stages: preparing for the boss summon, acquiring the starting quest item, and the seven-day chain in the Endmire.

  1. Complete the Endmire quest from Tessl Talespinner in Revendreth (coordinates /way 65.2 63.6). Without this flag the required quest item will not drop from the boss
  2. Head to the southwest of Revendreth and farm gorger mobs until one of them drops Game iconEnticing Anima (about a 5–7% chance)
  3. Approach the Worldedge Brazier around coordinates /way 38.6 72.0 and use the anima — the Worldedge Gorger will spawn at this spot
  4. Kill the elite boss. At level 80 it goes down in 10–20 seconds. It drops the Game iconImpressionable Gorger Spawn — a quest item with about a 15–25% chance
  5. Once obtained, the item automatically disappears from your bag, and the pup runs off into the Endmire. Head to it at coordinates /way 63.1 56.2
  6. Each day for seven days, take one daily quest from the pup. The chain ends with the quest A New Pack, where you need to kill the Unbidden Worldeater together with your pet
  7. After turning in the final quest, the Game iconLoyal Gorger appears in your collection

Requirements and preparation

The entire activity takes place in Revendreth. To start, you need just two things: access to the zone and a completed Endmire quest.

The Endmire quest

The The Endmire quest is given by Tessl Talespinner at coordinates /way 65.2 63.6. The task is story-based: you need to find 5 saturated arubins. Without completing this quest, the Game iconImpressionable Gorger Spawn will not appear in the loot from the Worldedge Gorger, even if you kill it. This is a key check that players often forget.

Getting to Revendreth

  • If you already have a character with Shadowlands, use the teleport in the capital of Oribos — from there a path is open to all four zones of the Shadowlands
  • If you have never been to Shadowlands, approach Chromie in the capital and choose the Shadowlands travel line — it leads to the Shadowlands and opens the Revendreth storyline

How to obtain Enticing Anima

Game iconEnticing Anima is the key consumable for summoning the boss. It is an uncommon bind-on-pickup item, with a drop chance around 5–7% from any gorger.

Farming zone

The Banewood is the southwestern part of Revendreth, marked on the map as a subzone with a dim lilac mist. The target coordinates are /way 38.6 72.0 (the boss summon point). Packs of small gorgers and devourers graze around the braziers around the clock.

Optimal route

  1. Land at the braziers at coordinates /way 38.6 72.0
  2. Clear gorgers in a circle within a radius of 80–100 yards
  3. Return to the starting point roughly every 3–4 minutes — by then the mobs have respawned
  4. When you get Game iconEnticing Anima, immediately use it on the nearest brazier

One anima is enough for a single summon. If the Game iconImpressionable Gorger Spawn does not drop from the boss, you will have to farm another anima and repeat the summon.

A useful detail

The brazier has a 1-minute cooldown after each summon. If you are hunting with a friend and already have an anima, wait for the cooldown to end — otherwise the item is consumed and the boss does not appear.

The seven-day quest chain

After the pup runs off into the Endmire, you will find it as a friendly NPC at coordinates /way 63.1 56.2. Each day it gives one daily quest — and only one. Resets happen daily at the moment the server data refreshes (overnight in local time).

Day Quest Task
1 Fodder Underfoot Gather 18 Endmire serpentroots
2 Roots on the Menu Gather 35 Endmire serpentroots
3 Serpentroots Won't Do Bring 10 saturated Endmire fruits
4 Hungry, Hungry Gorger Bring 16 saturated fruits
5 Face to Face Kill 3 gorgers near the pup
6 You Can Keep Going Kill 7 gorgers near the pup
7 A New Pack Defeat the Unbidden Worldeater

The quests are completed at the same location within a 100-yard radius of the NPC. Each successive day the pup visibly grows — from the size of a large dog to an adult ready for full use.

The seven days do not have to be consecutive. If you missed a day, just take the next quest on your next visit. The chain does not reset.

Farming optimization

The entire activity is previous-generation content, so the main optimization advantage is character level and preparation for farming anima.

Class and specialization

Specs with mass damage and mobility have the edge: Demon Hunter, Rogue (Subtlety), Monk (Windwalker), Warlock (Affliction). At level 80 the difference is small, but if you have an account packed with alts — take the one that moves faster and clears packs better.

Timing and farm sessions

  • One full anima farming session takes 15–60 minutes depending on luck
  • After the anima drops and the boss is summoned — another 1–2 minutes
  • Seven days of dailies — each task is closed out in 3–5 minutes

In total: with average luck, you will have the mount in 7–10 days from the start.

Farming on multiple characters

The Game iconImpressionable Gorger Spawn is bind-on-pickup, so it cannot be transferred between alts. But the chain itself does not take much time, and if you have several characters who have completed the Endmire, you can run the chain on each in parallel. That said, the mount reward is still one per account — this only speeds up the process if you have bad luck with the drop on your main.

Anima farming tips

  • Move along the braziers — don't stand in one place. Mobs respawn at different rates, and a circular route is enough for a continuous stream
  • Keep a set hearthstone in Oribos — it instantly carries you to the capital and lets you quickly offload extra loot
  • If you are farming for a long time — install the Rarity or SimpleFarm addon to see precise drop statistics

Tips

1

First check your quest log — your log should have a completion flag for the The Endmire. If it does not, spend 10 minutes on the story and only then go for the anima. This is a common reason for "why nothing dropped from the boss"

2

Don't rush to use the anima — before applying the item to the brazier, clear the aggro around you. The boss is large and noisy, but there may be other gorgers nearby that will stick to you during the fight

3

Watch the brazier counter — there are several Worldedge Braziers in the Banewood, but only one is active. If you approach the wrong one, the anima simply burns up. The game itself points out the right one — the interactive object highlights on hover

4

Don't throw away the achievement_dungeon_sanguinedepths_kryxisImpressionable Gorger Spawn — the item disappears from your bag automatically after the pup "runs off." You don't need to delete anything manually

5

On days 5 and 6, hit gorgers of any type within a 30-yard radius of the pup. Elite and normal ones count the same, and there are plenty of them there

6

Before the final quest, make sure you are at full health and have active buffs — the Unbidden Worldeater hits noticeably, though at level 80 it is trivial

7

After obtaining it, the mount appears immediately in the collection on all characters of the account. You don't need to bind it — the system triggers automatically
