Mag'har Direwolf
Overview

Mag'har Direwolf is an epic ground mount added in patch 8.0.1 of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. It is the racial mount of the Mag'har allied race, which you receive as a reward for the quest Uncorrupted — the final task in the chain to recruit the Mag'har into the Horde.
Once learned, the mount becomes available to all Horde characters on your account. Using it requires the Apprentice Riding skill and character level 10.
Why You Want This Mount
- Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is granted for completing the quest chain. No percentage drop chance and no gold spent
- Available account-wide — once obtained, the mount appears in the mount journal of all your Horde characters
- Unique appearance — this is the only direwolf mount with a Mag'har design, distinct from the standard Horde wolves
- Collection bonus — the mount counts toward mount-count achievements, bringing you closer to rewards for 100, 200, 300 and more mounts
- Lore and style — it fits perfectly into the Mag'har and orc theme overall. It pairs excellently with the Mag'har heritage armor
How to Obtain
The Mag'har Direwolf is awarded for the quest Uncorrupted, which is the final task in the chain to unlock the Mag'har allied race. To do this, you need to complete the recruitment scenario.
Step 1 — Meet the Unlock Requirements
To begin the Mag'har recruitment chain, you must:
- Have a Horde character at level 40 or higher
- Complete the achievement Ready for War — full completion of the Horde war campaign in Battle for Azeroth
As of patch 9.0.1 (Shadowlands), the Exalted reputation requirement with the Honorbound was removed. Now it is enough to complete the war campaign.
Step 2 — Start the Recruitment Chain
- Head to the Orgrimmar Embassy (located next to Grommash Hold)
- Find Eitrigg — he will give you the starting quest A Vision of Time
- Follow the quest chain, which will take you to an alternate Draenor
Step 3 — Complete the Scenario
The scenario tells the story of the Mag'har from the alternate Draenor and explains why they decided to join the Horde. During the scenario you will:
- Visit the alternate Draenor
- Meet Overlord Geya'rah — the leader of the Mag'har
- Help the Mag'har in their struggle
- Escort Overlord Geya'rah to Orgrimmar
Step 4 — Complete the Final Quest
After the scenario, Overlord Geya'rah will give you the quest Uncorrupted. Return to Ji Firepaw in Orgrimmar and turn in the task. As a reward you will receive:
Mag'har Direwolf — racial mount- The achievement Allied Races: Mag'har
- The ability to create Mag'har race characters
Tabard of the Blackrock Clan
Completing the War Campaign for the "Ready for War" Achievement
The achievement Ready for War is the main condition for unlocking the Mag'har. The Horde war campaign consists of several chapters that open as you level up.
Main Stages
- Footholds — build three outposts in Alliance territory: in Tiragarde Sound, Drustvar and Stormsong Valley. Each outpost opens at a certain level
- War missions — complete the quest chains associated with each foothold
- Campaign finale — finish all chapters of the war campaign to the end
At maximum level (90 in Midnight) the war campaign can be completed in a few hours. The tasks do not require a specific item level and scale.
Tips
Start with the war campaign — this is the longest stage. If you haven't done it yet, set aside 3–5 hours to fully complete all chapters
Use a level 90 character — at maximum level all BfA enemies and quests are completed instantly, which significantly speeds up the process
Check your progress in advance — open the achievements tab and find "Ready for War". You may have already completed some chapters earlier and have very little left
The quest may not appear immediately — if after completing the achievement the quest from Eitrigg is not available, relog or switch characters and come back
NPC phasing issue — some players encounter Ji Firepaw not displaying in Orgrimmar for turning in the final quest. In this case, try disabling all addons and relogging
Heritage armor — if you want to obtain the unique Mag'har heritage armor, create a new character of this race and level it to 50 without using boosts, race changes or Recruit a Friend bonuses
The scenario is one-time — the recruitment chain is completed once per account. It is impossible to repeat it on another character
A mount for all Horde characters — once obtained, the mount is available to any Horde character on the account, not just the Mag'har. Use it on any Horde class and race
