Malchazeen — Transmog Set Guide

Malchazeen is an epic one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft in The Burning Crusade expansion. Its defining feature is the rich crimson glow running along the blade, which trails as a faint red streak when the character moves. The effect is noticeably brighter than on most daggers of that era and rivals Perdition's Blade from Molten Core in visual impact.

The blade is short, with a curved guard and a dark hilt; the red glow emanates from the edge itself rather than from an applied enchant. This makes Malchazeen self-sufficient in terms of visuals — it looks striking even without a weapon enchant. The dagger suits any class that wields daggers: rogues, hunters, and intellect-based caster specializations.

As a combat weapon the item is long outdated: its item level and stats are good for leveling an alt at most. But as a transmog appearance Malchazeen is still prized — a recognizable model that other players immediately notice in the capital city.

Malchazeen drops from the final boss of the Karazhan raid — Prince Malchezaar. He is a nathrezim, after whom the blade is named.

• Raid: Karazhan, an abandoned tower in Deadwind Pass.
• Difficulty: 10 players. At the current level the raid can be soloed with ease — no boss poses any threat.
• Drop chance: around 17%. Prince Malchezaar selects several items from his loot table per fight, so you can get multiple transmog appearances in a single run.
• Lockout: the raid resets once per week, so it is one attempt per character per week. Farming is convenient to run with alts.
• Killing Prince Malchezaar grants the Karazhan achievement, which is handy to combine with farming the appearance.

The attunement chain and the Master's Key for entry have long since been removed — the gates are open. You just need to reach the tower by ground travel: from the Alliance side through Duskwood, and from the Horde side from the Swamp of Sorrows. There is no direct flight path to Karazhan itself; the nearest flight points are at the edges of Deadwind Pass.

Malchazeen has no direct recolors using the same model — it is a standalone appearance. Daggers similar in concept, with a crimson or fiery glow:
