Manslayer of the Qiraji — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Manslayer of the Qiraji is a two-handed sword of rare (blue) quality dating back to the classic era of World of Warcraft. It is a massive blade of insectoid Qiraji craftsmanship: a wide edge with serrated borders and a chitinous texture, finished in the sandy-gold palette characteristic of all Ahn'Qiraj gear. The silhouette is recognizable and heavy, so the sword looks great in the look of a warrior, death knight, or paladin themed around ancient Silithus.
The item belongs to the loot set of the 20-player raid Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj, which opened back in the Classic expansion. By modern standards this is outdated content, and it is farmed today exclusively for transmog: stats and item level no longer matter here at all. The weapon becomes Soulbound on pickup, so it cannot be handed to another character — you will have to obtain it directly with the hero who needs the look.
Source
The sword drops from a single source — the boss General Rajaxx, commander of the Qiraji armies in the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj raid.
- The raid is located in Silithus, at the entrance to Ahn'Qiraj next to the great gates.
- Coordinates for approaching the instance:
/way Silithus 29 93. - General Rajaxx is the fourth enemy along the clearing route; his camp is in the open part of the ruins at roughly
58.4, 49.1. - The drop chance of the sword from this boss is around 10.5%, which is fairly generous for a raid weapon.
- The raid entry lockout is once every three days, so with bad luck you may have to return several weeks in a row.
The fight against the general is a long wave-based skirmish: before Rajaxx himself, several squads of Qiraji infantry charge at you. At max level the raid is cleared solo with ease — you just need to survive the waves and finish off the boss. No additional access requirements, reputation, or quest chains are needed to enter.
Alternatives
The sword itself has no color variants: the model is unique to this item. If you want a similar two-hander in spirit or a Qiraji weapon in the same style, take a look at the following options.
| Name | Source | Wowhead |
|---|---|---|
| Kalimdor's Revenge | Drops in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj raid | |
| Blessed Qiraji War Hammer | Crafted from Qiraji reagents of the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj raid |
Both items uphold the unified sandy-chitinous aesthetic of Ahn'Qiraj, but Kalimdor's Revenge is a full two-handed sword and therefore the closest relative in silhouette.
Who It Suits Visually
- Harmonizes with plate sets in sandy-gold tones — for example, the loot sets from the Ruins and the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj themselves.
- Fits the concept of an "insect hunter" or a veteran of the War of the Shifting Sands thanks to the blade's chitinous texture.
- Stands out in dark, "necrotic" death knight looks, adding a warm sandy accent to them.
- Pairs well with greenish-bronze cloth and leather cloaks that echo the Silithus palette.
Tips
Enter the raid at max level — all of the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj content is soloed in a few minutes.
It is most convenient to farm on a class with high mobility and self-healing: paladin, death knight, or warrior get it done fastest.
Don't forget the three-day entry lockout — plan your run so the cooldown doesn't sit idle.
In a single run you can simultaneously get other items from General Rajaxx's loot table, so a full clear pays off even for one appearance.
If the sword doesn't drop, it's still worth finishing off the rest of the ruins' bosses — they drop other sought-after appearance items of the same theme.
Remember that the sword becomes Soulbound on pickup: collect it on the character you plan to wear the look on.

Got into World of Warcraft back in Legion, when everyone was obsessing over their artifacts. I've tried almost everything but still haven't settled on a main — I play whoever didn't get nerfed this week. I love the lore and digging up the quest details that everyone else just skips past.
